“Super hotel and great location!!”

We loved the charm and service at the Palazzo Sant'Angelo Sul Canal Grande!! The water taxi stop is just steps away from the front door and one of the few hotels that has a dock. Wonderful breakfast as well!

“Venice's Great Hotel”

The room was very clean. The staff was very helpful. Everyone understood English. Location was ideal .. right on the canal. It did take us a while to navigate through Venice, even with a map. The hotel staff helped us to find places in Venice.

“Great Stay”

Lovely hotel, first class. We loved the location and would recommend it to other travelors. It was a close walk to St. Mark's Square and the Rialto Bridge. It has it's own pier so you can arrange water taxi pick up and drop off right to the hotel which I would highly recommend. Do not expect good room service food, but rather go into the town for something worth eating. Becca Ficca is a very good restaurant & extremely close. Some of the best restaurants are closest to St. Mark's. The staff is pleasant and we had a great stay. It is more boutique style than large hotel. The shower doors are standared European with the half door, the only downside really. The beds are very nice.

Area recommendations

Pick a location with easy walking distance to St. Mark's Square. We enjoyed this location because in addition to the access to the Square, it was close to the Rialto Bridge and on the Grand Canal making it easy to catch a boat to the nearby islands. This hotel offers complimentary rides to Murano. From there you can water taxi to Burano Island which is worth visiting if you have the time. A public ferry takes you back. Make sure to catch the last ferry in time (about 3:30 pm).

“Great Canal Front Hotel!!”

Everything was perfect from the location, the attentive staff, the bottle of Proseco in our room. Our room was relatively big for Venice and the bed very comfortable. We highly recommend this hotel.

“Venice with my 17 year old son”

I took my 17 year old son for several day trip to Venice (wife couldn't go :( ). We stayed 2 nights at the sant Angelo. Very nice small hotel. Room was not ready until 3 which wa a pain since we just flew in that morning. Room was very nice. Tvs are old and the wifi is expensive and a pain. The best part of the hotel is the location rit on the grand canal and 20 feet away from a valparetto stop. Overall the Hilton Stucky was much nicer and far less expensive

“Venice experienc”

It was awesome. What a wonderful city. Also, complimentary boat shuttle to Murano from the hotel front door.

Area recommendations

There are so many areas to visit. Most people end up at San Marco. We walked all over Venice and felt safe and found beautiful architecture everywhere. It didn't matter day or night we always felt safe and found interesting and magnificant things to see.

Getting around

Public transportation is by boat. It is very efficient and we found it to be on schedule. Cost is reasonable. If you plan to travel to other cities in Italy the train system is great. Very comfortable seating and clean. You can find scheduling on line and cost is minimal. We did a day trip to Florence by train. One thing for sure is you will do alot of walking. Take comfy shoes because to explore Venice you will be on your feet. The only vacation I've been on that I ate the great food and lost 4 pounds!

“Quiet water side refuge”

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. It was great to be right on the canal and arrive from the airport by boat with no need to drag baggage around the cobblestone streets looking for the hotel. The hotel was quiet and somewhat out of the way, but actually not far from everything once we figured out the map. The breakfast was wonderful. Electricity in sockets a bit questionable for laptop charging though.

“We really enjoyed our stay! A Great Hotel!”

This hotel was an excellent choice for my family. It was easily accessible from the water bus. The staff was very professional and exceptionally nice to us. The breakfast buffet was served very elegantly in the dining room. The hotel room was very nice, I was traveling with my two adult children and they supplied us with three beds. The mini bar was nice and the air conditioning was needed in August. I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Venice. A short walk to Saint Marks. Away from all the crowds. A good Choice!

“Excellent stay”

The quality and the service at this hotel was excellent. Very easily accessible from the water taxi. San Marco was a great neighborhood in Venice to stay.
