“Great location in Venice and clean, comfortable hotel.”

The hotel was very nice and in a great location. The rooms are tiny so be ware! Literally you walk in and your practically standing on your bed. We even booked one of their larger rooms with a view of the canal and the room was still SO small. The breakfast buffet was terrible so we never took advantage of it. Overall I would give this hotel about 4 stars, staff was friendly, hotel was clean and it is in a good location so what more could you ask for really? If I decide to return to Venice one day and am unable to afford staying at The Cipriani then I would probably stay here again.

Area recommendations

Stay away from San Marco Square! It's dirty, gross, packed with tourists and filled with Pigeons. If your in venice for more then 2 nights make sure you take a day trip to Burano, a small fishing village just a boat ride away. That place was amazing!

splendid -location near st marks square close and easy and close to grand canal/renaldi bridge. would recommend taking water taxi from train station or airport 10-20 minutes just for ease of not carrying suitcases up and down steps and trying to find hotel until you get your bearings, water bus cheaper but takes up to an hour to square then you walk to hotel. extra cost for a canal view not worth it since canal is small and loud and not the grand canal. good american breakfast included daily. good staff recommendations for shopping and eating.rooms are small but very modern and clean with mini-bar and safe.internet access is extra .over all a romantic hotel, friendly staff,good food and room service. gondola ride available in front 20min to1 hr cost for boat with 2-6 people. would recommend highly for a venice experience that is enjoyable and safe.

“Civilization in overcrowded Venice”

The Splendid was a haven in a beautiful but very overcrowded city. They were in an ideal location, in between the Rialto bridge and St. Mark's Square. They were efficient, helpful, upgrading us on the spot upon availability without us even asking. They also offer an excellent breakfast. We enjoyed the in-house restaurant Le Maschere, excellent food and service, ask for Matteo.

“Great Time”

It has excellent location. Rooms are very clean and nice. At the front desk, there is a lady named Eliza that helped us with everything and made us have a great time. For a 4 star hotel, it is a great choice.

“Nice hotel, great location”

We had a nice room with view to the canals. Hotel is in a great location, two blocks from St Marko squire. You can go back to the hotel whenever you want. Breakfast was nice too. Totally recommend it!

“would go back in a minute!”

Hotel was great. Location perfect. Rooms clean, modern. Breakfast was delicious and service great. Staff friendly and helpful. Can't wait to return one day soon.

Just walk and take in as much as you can. The boat transport system was good. We felt safe walking in Venice just about anywhere.

“Ideal location in Venice”

Superb - that's where I'd start. Finding the hotel was a challenge as it's along the narrow streets between Piazza San Marco (St Mark's Sq) and the Rialto Bridge. Not easy to find unless you know Venice,, but we got a guide to show is for 2 Euro's and it was well worth the money. The hotel has a mooring on the canal, which we used when we checked out The hotel was in fabulous condition, very clean and our room was absolutley brilliant. Crisp white bed linen, comfy good size bed and a lovely bathroom. My wife was in heaven. Included breakfast was fabulous. It's a 5 min walk to St Mark's Sq and a 5 min walk the other way to Rialto Bridge. Full of great (but expensive) shopping with all the major French and Italian brands. Lots of great restaurants around and since the hotel in on a canal, you can just sit outside and watch / listen to the Gondella's. If you think the hotel is too expensive, then I recommend you don't go to Venice as everything is very expensive and you won't enjoy the trip as you'll be complaining about the price of everything.. Summary - Hotel was fabulous. Bedroom was even better Highly recommend.

The area of Venice where this hotel is located is for tourists. If I was on Business, I wouldn't have the patience regarding transporting the luggage, but then I had my wife with me. With a carry on wheelie back, you'll be OK

“Great Hotel”

We were pleasently surprised by the quality of this hotel. It is classy and in a great location. We spent the night in 4 hotels on our recent trip across Italy and this was the best for the money. I would recommend without hesitation.
