Very good location

ROOM: very clean, very basic, no air-condition. Toilet is big, but bath area is so tiny. Very poor breakfast serve in your own room. Location is very good, near bus and train station. Bus is about 15 mins to Venice, 10 mins a bus, so not too bad.

Here is the low down

As this is a bed and breakfast it doesn't have a big sign to show you where it is, however the directions supplied are good. You just need to bear in mind it is just a normal door in a street with a little sign. It is best to pre arrange a time that you are arriving so that Ernesto (the owner) can meet you, otherwise you will definitely need you phone to ring him to let him know you are there. The location is convenient as it is 5 mins walk to train station and the train into Venice takes 10 mins and cost 1Euro. Ernesto was lovely and the room was large and clean, however it did smell like cigarette smoke, as do most places in Italy. If you leave the shutters down and the windows open, you can air the room. Unless you are allergic to smoke the smell of smoke is bearable. As this is a B&B it is a shared bathroom. The bathroom was modern and clean, however the shower was a strange contraption as it did not have any sides, so water tended to go everywhere, and the easiest way to use it was to sit down. This aside, every time I used it, the bathroom was immaculate and served its purpose. The breakfast was a typical Italian one of a croissant and hot drink. Don't expect anything more anywhere. I think this place was a little overpriced, but I think that could also have been because it was carnival time. I have nothing bad to say about this place as it was pleasant.

excellent budget hotel

I was impressed with what I got for my money. if, like me, you are priced out of the market for staying on the Venetian islands, I recommend this bed and breakfast. It's easy to find, and 10 mins walk (maximum) from Venice's Mestre train station. From there, trains go every few minutes to the islands. My room was spacious and had everything I needed. Apparently there is also wifi - but I didn't have my laptop with me, so can't verify this. Everything was simple, adequate and clean. Oh - and the owner speaks good English. Overall, a great choice if you are a budget traveller.
