Dionne family 3 days visit venicePosted Jul 20, 2013
Very conveniently located near train, bus, airport shuttle. Was able to accommodate 4 adults in the same room at a decent price during peak tourist season.

close to stationPosted Jul 10, 2013 on Hotels.com
Overall good. Monica the hostess was wonderful and very helpful and gracious. The rooms were compact and clean. The mattresses and pillows were typical of our Italy experience ... :) Bus and train were very close. The area while not great, I never felt threatened or in danger. Monica can direct you to 6euro a day parking close by if you have a car. Not having WiFI was a big drawback. Also having to pay in cash was not ideal. So I would recommend VR, and plan to purchase 24hrs of WIFI in Venice when you get to the station.

Nice hotel convenient to VenicePosted Jul 5, 2013
Location: Bepis restaurant just down the street has some downhome Venetian style food at a reasonable price, for the area.
Very nice, small B&B style place just blocks from the Mestre train station, and thus just about 15 minutes from Venice. The couple that runs it are very nice and helpful -- they let us store some of our bags there when we took a few days to drive up in the Alps. It's very clean and the breakfast is tasty.

Clean, comfortable, good valuePosted Apr 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel wasn't in the most pleasant area, but was close to Mestre station. The owner was very friendly and the room was clean and comfortable.
A very comfortable stayPosted Oct 14, 2012 on Hotels.com
Monica was wonderful. She provided breakfast every morning and made to order coffee. The hotel is only half a block from the bus to Venice. 20 minutes and you are there!! Monica recommended a seafood restaurant just down the street. It was great. Seemed to be a neighborhood place with fresh fish in the window. Hotel was also close to the Mestre train station but you didn't hear anything in our room. Wish we could have stayed longer. We loved it. One thing to note: the hotel accepts cash only. Your card info is only taken to hold the reservation.

Cash only!Posted Jun 18, 2012
The Expedia confirmation notes that the hotel is to be paid directly in local currency. But the indication is that Visa or Mastercard are accepted. Nevertheless the owners insisted on payment in cash and refused credit card payment. Since this was not indicated in the confirmation, I arrived unprepared to pay in cash and was very inconvenienced by their requirement. Expedia should indicate clearly that a cash payment is expected, thus avoiding surprises and inconvenience. Furniture in the room was minimal.

villa ricordi mestre venice one stop on the trainPosted Dec 2, 2011 on Hotels.com
we were given directions from the train station then from a postwoman. A bit of a way to walk with luggage but ok. Monica - our host was exceptional. She was very helpful with transport, tours and eating out info. We settled on 8am for breakfast and on the second we were a bit early and the brioche was not quite ready to come out of the oven. everything was excellent.
