"Gondolas serenading outside our windows!"
We were so happy with our choice of this hotel. Choose a Deluxe room with a canal view. Charming, elegant, quaint, and so memorable! Excellent breakfast and atmosphere. Our room was like walking back in time. Very close to the main Venice attractions.

"Perfect location and beautiful hotel"
Location is perfect. Just a stone away from the grand San Marco area and Rialto area. Friendly staff and very helpful. Room is nicely decorated. One tip, when coming from airport do take the private water taxi and avoid the public taxi.

"Good place to stay."
Staying at this hotel was a good experience for us. While it is an older hotel with small rooms, it was very clean and offered everything that we needed. It is close to the San Lucia train station and the Grand Canal, so that it was easy to get around. The included breakfast was quite good. We would certainly stay there again and recommend it to friends. It is a little hard to find. On leaving the station turn left and walk down this street. Do not cross the bridge. Turn left off this active street to a short quiet street. There is a small sign and the turn is an arch way between two stores. Watch closely. If you get to a place where the street widens out and there is a back wall of a church, you have gone too far. If you are walking for more than 10 minutes, you have gone too far. Ask some one.

"Beautiful Hotel on the Waterfront"
Every step we were pampered. The room was perfectly cleaned, robes, slippers, heated towel rack, deep tub, and most important, a really comfortable bed! The staff was always friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was wonderful! All the basics but also smoked salmon, fresh flaky rolls and croissants. And the location, right on the canal about 5 minutes from St Marks square, is ideal.

"Fantastic luxuriously appointed hotel"
Fantastic luxurious hotel, very well appointed rooms, it's decor, ambience and staff, in very quaint surroundings, with easy access to all of the water buses and everything else Venice has to offer. They even re-made your bed when you went out in the evening, leaving a chocolate on your pillow. Don't miss the hotels 'extra' treats, where from 14:30-22:30 there is free coffee, tea, fruit juice, water, fruit, cakes, crisps and peanuts, and what a bonus, 18:30-20:30, there is also delicious finger sandwiches and white wine to die for. Absolutely a perfect choice for our first and perfect long weekend in paradise, oops, Venice. It was my partner's 50th Birthday, and one trip we will never forget. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone. Thank you Una Hotel Venezia, keep it up.

"Great value, ultra helpful and friendly staff!"
A short walk from the train station, Venice - Santa Lucia, this hotel is perfect. Absolutely everything is within walking distance, though you could say that about Venice in general, but it was a plus to be able to walk to and from the train station, the water taxi station, and plenty of restaurants nearby. The staff was sensational, friendly, resourceful and definitely went the extra mile for us. We had a 6:30 am flight out of Venice Marco Polo, and Chiara arranged for a driver to meet us at the hotel at 4:00 am, arranged for a to-go breakfast, and gave us a cheaper option than the water taxi. We will come back to Venice and definitely stay at the Canal Grande again...did I mention the breakfast was great!

    Where to stay in Venice

    Venice Hotel Guide

Venice is known by a number of nicknames: the city of water, the city of bridges, queen of the Adriatic, and the city of light. This range of names points to the difficulty of trying to capture the intangible quality of this most unique of cities you can discover during your Venice vacation. Indeed, Venice has been performing something of a magic trick for well over a millennium: built on 118 tiny islands, with a marshy lagoon as its base, the city has managed to defy gravity for more than a thousand years.

    Classic highlights

Even if you haven't visited Venice, you've probably already seen images of its classic highlights: gondolas on the Grand Canal, the gothic Doge's Palace, and the pigeons on St Marks Square. You can rest assured that the reality of these places is every bit as majestic as the postcard pictures make them out to be. Book your flights to Venice and discover the majestic impact this city has on its visitors.

More than just a series of famous snapshots, however, Venice is a mesmerizing, mysterious city laced with hints of melancholy with so many things to do in Venice. Once a major maritime power, Venice continues to survive largely because of the tourist trade, with the number of actual residents dwindling year after year. Ever-increasing flooding wreaks havoc on architecture, while the summer's heat can make the city feel almost swamp-like. Decadent palaces stand next to decaying houses, glorious restoration next to gloomy ruin, making the city nothing short of a floating museum - but in many ways this is also its barrier to modernization.

    Mix of contrasts

This profound mix of contrasts makes Venice a fascinating destination. As it struggles to find a balance between preserving the rich cultural heritage on which it depends and carving out an identity as a still-living city in the 21st century, Venice remains one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

Book your Venice hotels and find your perfect place to discover the mix of contrasts; whether you stay at a Venice resort or hotel during your stay, you are bound to find cheap hotel deals in Venice. Stay at hotels in Venice, Italy and discover what the city has to offer beyond what your guide book tells you. The reputations of the signature tourist 'musts' are well deserved, but the discoveries you make by getting lost in Venice's winding streets and canals are equally rewarding. Exploring your extraordinary surroundings is sure to make you sigh in disbelief. One of Venice's most famous bridges, in fact - just one of over 400 bridges connecting Venice's islands - is called the Bridge of Sighs. And just as you’ve had enough of the city you can discover the outskirts by getting a rental car in Venice or by enjoying a getaway on one of the cruises from Venice.

    Artists' inspiration

Even the light in Venice is different; the reflection off the water has provided inspiration for many artists. The Accademia Gallery holds several Venetian masterpieces, and you'll notice the play of light in many of its painting. The unusual light is far from being the city's only special quality. Visit during Carnevale and you'll see a glamour you thought no longer existed. Also well worth a visit is Venice Biennale, Europe's classiest international forum for contemporary art.

Cars aren't allowed in Venice, so you'll get to know the city by walking or riding vaporetti (public water buses - an alternative to the more expensive water taxis or gondolas, although it's worth splashing for a romantic evening out). Venice is notoriously crowded (and expensive), but people come for good reason. There is no other city like it in the world - its culture and canals, basilicas and bridges continue to leave visitors marveling. Despite its uncertain future, Venice hasn't lost its magic. Book your Venice Italy hotels so the city can cast its spell on you, too.
