"Very nice hotel, friendly atmosphere good for kids"
Very nice hotel, quiet in pleasant location, easy to find on the satnav. Staff very friendly and nice to kids. We actually booked rooms for adults only and didn't mentioned kids and we were not charged an extra despite kids being 3 & 5 yrs old. You're only 3 minutes walk from a bus station at the back of the hotel - line 5, 6, 12 & 12/ will take you straight to Venice in 15 minutes time. Although decor looks a little bit dated (colours etc.) it's very clean inside. Bathrooms big and clean. Parking is free, you'll be charged extra for wifi if you would like to use it in your room but it's free in the reception area where they've nice comfortable sofas. Enough to check your emails and update your social media profiles. Highly reccommend for families with kids. :)

We were so happy with our choice of this hotel. Choose a Deluxe room with a canal view. Charming, elegant, quaint, and so memorable! Excellent breakfast and atmosphere. Our room was like walking back in time. Very close to the main Venice attractions.

"Great city hotel"
Stayed 2 nights in November for a romantic break. Have never been to venice but certainly appeared to be one of the nicer hotels we came across and given how expensive the city was, was extremely good value.

"Beautiful Hotel on the Waterfront"
Every step we were pampered. The room was perfectly cleaned, robes, slippers, heated towel rack, deep tub, and most important, a really comfortable bed! The staff was always friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was wonderful! All the basics but also smoked salmon, fresh flaky rolls and croissants. And the location, right on the canal about 5 minutes from St Marks square, is ideal.

"comfortable and convenient"
We got off our train and the hotel is right across from train station. Booked a regular room and got a mini suite, 20' x 17', pleasant surprise. Hotel staff helpful and efficient in booking tours of Uffizi and Academia. We planned to take the train to go to Siena on our own but found out that morning the trains and buses were on strike for one day. Spur of the moment changed our plans and hopped on a local "Walkabout" bus tour right across from train station and hotel. 12 hour tour visited Siena, Chianti Hills with wine tasting and lunch, San Gimignano and Pisa, good value at 90 Euro per person. Went to Santa Maria Novella Basilica near the hotel for Sunday mass for an Italian religious experience and the Archbishop of Florence was there, another good surprise. This was our first visit to Florence and spent most of our four days there hoping from museums to churches. Recommend that if you only have a few days there, select just a few museums and churches to tour and allow enough time to leisurely and aimlessly stroll along the narrow side streets and take in the charm, sit down and people watch and check out the architecture around you. Mid October is a great time to visit, less tourists and no need to buy Firenze Pass, just book through hotel staff.

"Best Hotel in Venice"
I have just returned from my stay at the Hotel Luna Baglioni in Venice and give this hotel the highest recommendation. The staff are unfailingly polite, pleasant and helpful. Room service very quick and the hotel beautiful and well kept. The breakfast was very good with a great selection of food and served in the most wonderful dining room I have ever seen, with paintings on the walls and ceiling, antique style furniture and a very efficient and attentive staff. Special mention must go to the chambermaid/room cleaners who tidied and cleaned our room every time we left it so that each time we returned it was immaculate. If you are visiting Venice, stay at this hotel. In my opinion it's the best.

    Where to stay in Venice

    Venice Hotel Guide

Venice is known by a number of nicknames: the city of water, the city of bridges, queen of the Adriatic, and the city of light. This range of names points to the difficulty of trying to capture the intangible quality of this most unique of cities you can discover during your Venice vacation. Indeed, Venice has been performing something of a magic trick for well over a millennium: built on 118 tiny islands, with a marshy lagoon as its base, the city has managed to defy gravity for more than a thousand years.

    Classic highlights

Even if you haven't visited Venice, you've probably already seen images of its classic highlights: gondolas on the Grand Canal, the gothic Doge's Palace, and the pigeons on St Marks Square. You can rest assured that the reality of these places is every bit as majestic as the postcard pictures make them out to be. Book your flights to Venice and discover the majestic impact this city has on its visitors.

More than just a series of famous snapshots, however, Venice is a mesmerizing, mysterious city laced with hints of melancholy with so many things to do in Venice. Once a major maritime power, Venice continues to survive largely because of the tourist trade, with the number of actual residents dwindling year after year. Ever-increasing flooding wreaks havoc on architecture, while the summer's heat can make the city feel almost swamp-like. Decadent palaces stand next to decaying houses, glorious restoration next to gloomy ruin, making the city nothing short of a floating museum - but in many ways this is also its barrier to modernization.

    Mix of contrasts

This profound mix of contrasts makes Venice a fascinating destination. As it struggles to find a balance between preserving the rich cultural heritage on which it depends and carving out an identity as a still-living city in the 21st century, Venice remains one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

Book your Venice hotels and find your perfect place to discover the mix of contrasts; whether you stay at a Venice resort or hotel during your stay, you are bound to find cheap hotel deals in Venice. Stay at hotels in Venice, Italy and discover what the city has to offer beyond what your guide book tells you. The reputations of the signature tourist 'musts' are well deserved, but the discoveries you make by getting lost in Venice's winding streets and canals are equally rewarding. Exploring your extraordinary surroundings is sure to make you sigh in disbelief. One of Venice's most famous bridges, in fact - just one of over 400 bridges connecting Venice's islands - is called the Bridge of Sighs. And just as you’ve had enough of the city you can discover the outskirts by getting a rental car in Venice or by enjoying a getaway on one of the cruises from Venice.

    Artists' inspiration

Even the light in Venice is different; the reflection off the water has provided inspiration for many artists. The Accademia Gallery holds several Venetian masterpieces, and you'll notice the play of light in many of its painting. The unusual light is far from being the city's only special quality. Visit during Carnevale and you'll see a glamour you thought no longer existed. Also well worth a visit is Venice Biennale, Europe's classiest international forum for contemporary art.

Cars aren't allowed in Venice, so you'll get to know the city by walking or riding vaporetti (public water buses - an alternative to the more expensive water taxis or gondolas, although it's worth splashing for a romantic evening out). Venice is notoriously crowded (and expensive), but people come for good reason. There is no other city like it in the world - its culture and canals, basilicas and bridges continue to leave visitors marveling. Despite its uncertain future, Venice hasn't lost its magic. Book your Venice Italy hotels so the city can cast its spell on you, too.
