"The City of Romance - Venice"
The only reason for a 4 with 'room comfort' is simply that the living space itself was quite small. But after all we are in Venice, the 'City of Romance', where one should expect tight quarters, as to much space may impede upon the romantic bit! The hotel's location was just perfect for our like-to-stroll-style, and stroll we did for all of our three day stay. Through the maze we searched out a list of eating establishments we had compiled prior to our arrival, only to feel less confident in returning to dine for fear of getting lost within the maze at night .So after our late afternoon-early evening freshen up we ventured out locally. Luncheons were exciting and very improvisational, with never a dull meal. Our daily adventures where greatly assisted by the knowledgeable staff, and began with a wonderful break feast.

"fantastic location"
Large room over looking the canal, floods made interesting viewing. If going this time of year take your welly boots or be prepared to buy some. canal levels go up by 6 foot and water across paths, piazza and hotel reception. life continues regardless and water subsides after couple of hours. Breakfast room over looking canal, plenty of choice, cereal, bacon and omelette, cold meats and cheese, bread and fruit. Hotel spotlessly clean, clean towels and toiletries. Would go back again and recommend.

"Nice hotel close to bus and train stations"
Arlecchino is well located, close to bus, waterbus and train stations. Mobility is not a problem, although the hotel is not in a busy area like San Marco and Rialto bridge. The staff provided excellent services, the room is as expected. Small but clean and have a good view to the canal. I would recommend the hotel to other travelers who are looking for a nice, affordable and quiet hotel.

"Close to Rialto"
Great breakfast & restaurant staff. Room sold by website on basis of extra bed for 2 adults & 3 kids but only a quad available so a little cramped - reception claimed they never sell rooms for 5. Shower broken so only a tiny bath available - this was disappointing to say the least and they were unable to fix this during our stay.

"Incredible staff and room!"
We chose this hotel based on Expedia reviews, and we were not disappointed!! The staff of the hotel is truly what makes it so special and wonderful. They are beyond, beyond helpful and friendly. I currently live in a rural location in East Africa and needed, of all things, a notary service while on vacation in Venice. They located and found a notary service for me in a nearby town, and arranged for a driver to take us there! They booked a haircut appointment for me (use their recommendation - no doubt, the best haircut I've ever had!). They went above and beyond expected at all times. I had a day when I needed to do work in the hotel, and left the room to sit downstairs when the housekeeper came. Without me even asking, they notified me as soon as the room was cleaned so I could return. Really, truly, the best service experience I think we ever have had in a hotel. Also, our room was fantastic. Incredible amenities, extremely clean, just wonderful. Can't say enough good things about this place. Also, great breakfast that is included in the room price!

"Location, Cleanliness, Comfort & Staff"
Hotel has entrance (harbor) from the Canal. Our motorboat dropped and picked us up right at the hotel "doorstep." Checking-in/out was quick. Shops, attractions and restos/cafes are walking distance. reception staff ( especially Nicola) and the housekeeping staff are all efficient. We will definitely stay in this hotel next time we go to Venice and will encourage family and friends to do so too.

    Where to stay in Venice

    Venice Hotel Guide

Venice is known by a number of nicknames: the city of water, the city of bridges, queen of the Adriatic, and the city of light. This range of names points to the difficulty of trying to capture the intangible quality of this most unique of cities you can discover during your Venice vacation. Indeed, Venice has been performing something of a magic trick for well over a millennium: built on 118 tiny islands, with a marshy lagoon as its base, the city has managed to defy gravity for more than a thousand years.

    Classic highlights

Even if you haven't visited Venice, you've probably already seen images of its classic highlights: gondolas on the Grand Canal, the gothic Doge's Palace, and the pigeons on St Marks Square. You can rest assured that the reality of these places is every bit as majestic as the postcard pictures make them out to be. Book your flights to Venice and discover the majestic impact this city has on its visitors.

More than just a series of famous snapshots, however, Venice is a mesmerizing, mysterious city laced with hints of melancholy with so many things to do in Venice. Once a major maritime power, Venice continues to survive largely because of the tourist trade, with the number of actual residents dwindling year after year. Ever-increasing flooding wreaks havoc on architecture, while the summer's heat can make the city feel almost swamp-like. Decadent palaces stand next to decaying houses, glorious restoration next to gloomy ruin, making the city nothing short of a floating museum - but in many ways this is also its barrier to modernization.

    Mix of contrasts

This profound mix of contrasts makes Venice a fascinating destination. As it struggles to find a balance between preserving the rich cultural heritage on which it depends and carving out an identity as a still-living city in the 21st century, Venice remains one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

Book your Venice hotels and find your perfect place to discover the mix of contrasts; whether you stay at a Venice resort or hotel during your stay, you are bound to find cheap hotel deals in Venice. Stay at hotels in Venice, Italy and discover what the city has to offer beyond what your guide book tells you. The reputations of the signature tourist 'musts' are well deserved, but the discoveries you make by getting lost in Venice's winding streets and canals are equally rewarding. Exploring your extraordinary surroundings is sure to make you sigh in disbelief. One of Venice's most famous bridges, in fact - just one of over 400 bridges connecting Venice's islands - is called the Bridge of Sighs. And just as you’ve had enough of the city you can discover the outskirts by getting a rental car in Venice or by enjoying a getaway on one of the cruises from Venice.

    Artists' inspiration

Even the light in Venice is different; the reflection off the water has provided inspiration for many artists. The Accademia Gallery holds several Venetian masterpieces, and you'll notice the play of light in many of its painting. The unusual light is far from being the city's only special quality. Visit during Carnevale and you'll see a glamour you thought no longer existed. Also well worth a visit is Venice Biennale, Europe's classiest international forum for contemporary art.

Cars aren't allowed in Venice, so you'll get to know the city by walking or riding vaporetti (public water buses - an alternative to the more expensive water taxis or gondolas, although it's worth splashing for a romantic evening out). Venice is notoriously crowded (and expensive), but people come for good reason. There is no other city like it in the world - its culture and canals, basilicas and bridges continue to leave visitors marveling. Despite its uncertain future, Venice hasn't lost its magic. Book your Venice Italy hotels so the city can cast its spell on you, too.
