Nice Economical Place to Stay in Ventura

Posted Apr 14, 2014
Great place, close to the freeway. Clean and comfy. Main Street is close and has several good restaurants and a great coffee shop. Ventura Pier and beach less than a mile away.

Ugh! Worst motel

Posted Apr 13, 2014
TV didn't work. Hotel staff said she couldn't fix it and had to wait an hour for someone to come in all the while she sat behind the desk and played on her phone. Terrible service!!!!!

Broken Water Main

Posted Apr 7, 2014
Arrived, checked in, settled in. Took call from switchboard,"water is out for next 14 hours". No water for stay, paid 50% of invoice. Otherwise, all was fine.

Been Coming here for 10 years.

Pros: Breakfast and Happy Hour staff are wonderful. GIVE THEM A RAISE.
Cons: First time I used Expedia. Won't do it again. This hotel has a frequent user card and when I gave my card, the hotel won't honor it because/Expedia.
Location: Downtown, walking distance.
Great happy hour and breakfast. Big Rooms, near downtown.

Extremely Bad customer service . Rude , uncooperative , just Simply bad Service with Nice rooms . I would not recommend staying there you could get better service at a Motel 6 and pay half the price.

Ventura Country Inn & Expedia

Posted Apr 5, 2014
Pros: It was CLEAN
Cons: The Wifi did not work and it advertises Free Wifi
Location: Ventura Pier Ventura Down Town
Well I tried to check in with my reservation # that Expedia gave me and the front desk clerk said I had no reservation in my name at all. I called the 800 # to Expedia and told the customer representative what happened and she was able to fix the problem. I feel that some one dropped the ball and hope this doesn't happen again in the future. I would think after all these years Expedia has been in business that this would be a simple transaction and the hotel would have confirmation and all my info.

Great place within easy access of Downtown Ventura

Posted Apr 2, 2014
Pros: I liked the pleasant and friendly staff, convenience to Ventura downtown and the harbor, and the spacious rooms.
Cons: It would be nice to have water next time. But in general just a little sprucing up might be needed.
Location: Easy walking distance to the downtown area, outstanding restaurants, and historic sites, and a short trip to the beach and Ventura Harbor Village.
My daughter and I stayed here on a trip to Ventura and Santa Barbara. The staff was very friendly, helpful and personable. Our room was spacious, clean and bright. The breakfast is good, admittedly nothing spectacular, but well done motel breakfast. While we were there, they had a water main break. There was no water from about 8:30 at night until about 8 am. Inconvenient, yes. I have to say that the staff maintained their calm and pleasant demeanor while dealing with some rather unhappy guests. They had bottled water for everyone who asked. They called everyone to let them know what happened, and kept all the guests updated about the progress. The way they addressed the issue and handled themselves impressed me. I would definitely stay at the Country Inn and Suites again.

Reasonable price and good location

Posted Apr 2, 2014
Pros: The breakfast was great!
Cons: The refrigerator needs maintenance.
Location: The location is close to the freeway and stores and eateries.
The refrigerator did not work well. I bought food and beverages from the grocery store and put them in the fridge. The next day the food and drinks weren't cold. They were at about room temperature. I even checked the plug to make sure it was in and it made a buzzing sound that verified it was on. The room was comfy and clean. The TV was tricky to turn on. I had to call the front desk 3 times to get directions on how to turn it on and eventually a staff member had to come to the room to turn it on. The free breakfast was really nice, and the happy hour was a nice gesture (pretzels, popcorn, wine and Shasta sodas). I was a little hesitant to check in the hotel the day of my stay. As I was parking the car in the hotel lot I saw a couple homeless men looking in the trash cans from the businesses across the street. This was in the middle of the day at 5pm. Overall, the hotel was in a convenient location and had a good rate.
