lovely view to Ventura pier but noisy

Posted May 15, 2014
Pros: very clean facilities and friendly staff
Cons: noise in rooms near the road
Location: Ventura is a fantastic town, we loved the laid back ahtmosphere and the tacos on the pier
The hotel had a great location near the beach and was clean and nice. The staff, in particular Mariana, was superb. The only problem was the noise, we could not close an eye the first night but then were kindly moved to a quieter room. Enjoyed it at the end.

This is a Motel Masquerading as a Hotel

Posted May 12, 2014
Very disappointing. Reservations not fully honored, no valets to park or serve, non responsive to requests for extra towels and wine.glasses for our room, no carafe for the coffee maker, not enough parking when we returned from dinner in town-- all in all no better than your basic serve yourself motel.

Great location, right on the ocean.

Posted May 6, 2014
Pros: The hotel was right on the water and you could see the ocean from most of the rooms. My room had a very good view and I appreciated that.
Cons: The improvement for me could be the bathroom. It was very small and not too much shelf space to put your things on. I was alone so it was OK.
Location: The ocean was at the back of the hotel. The pier was to the left and there was a nice restaurant right next door and hotel food was good too.
I found all the staff was very willing to make sure they were helpful and I was happy with the outcome.

Beach Front Hotel

Posted May 4, 2014
Pros: Easy freeway access, very close to the beach, very close to downtown ventura, balcony access from your room. The breakfast buffett was good.
Cons: Add a radio clock alarm to the room.
Location: Several restaurants along the beach front within easy walking distance. Shopping in downtown ventura. Swimming and surfing, relaxing on the beach.
Very easy to get to from freeway exit. Very short walk into downtown Ventura. Beach right outside the hotel. beautiful view from the room balcony. Staff very friendly and helpful. Parking cost $12 dollars per day with in and out privileges, but parking lot is small and there is a parking garage right next to the hotel for those not able to find a spot in the lot. Very nice restaurant on site. Nice bar with outside seating to enjoy the sunset and view. No alarm clock in the room. I would stay there again.

Fees for crap

Posted Apr 27, 2014
I paid 115 a night and I feel I got ripped off. No counter space. Outdated hotel with a small layout. 3 trains between 10 and 3am. Ocean view if u turn your head. $12 parking fee. Rooms had no insulation, so we could hear everything go on outside.

Disappointing Hotel Experience

Posted Apr 21, 2014
Pros: nothing
Cons: everything
I was at the Crowne Plaza for one night and will never stay there again. Our room was described as a "Room with a Beach View", well if you went onto the balcony and craned your head yes you had a view of the beach, what you really had a view of was the freeway. The bathroom had not been cleaned, there was mildew and slime growing on the faucets of the sink, the sink had a leak which went all over the tiled floor. The lock on the door was almost impossible to operate and get the key to open. Basically, a truly disappointing experience.

Great Hotel on the Beach in Ventura

Posted Apr 18, 2014
Pros: The proximity to the ocean and beach, as well as down town are great. The hotel is not fancy, but is very nice and clean.
Location: Walking distance to the Pier and the best Mahi Mahi tacos I've ever had (taco stand right on the pier). Also walking distance to downtown.
We stayed for one night before taking a ferry over to Santa Cruz Island. The hotel was very nice. The outside pool looks out on the beach and ocean. The sliding glass doors in the rooms don't have screens, which would have been nice with the pleasant weather that is pretty much year-round.

another nice stay

Posted Apr 1, 2014
Pros: Location, comfortable beds, balcony to sit, read, watch the surfers and joggers and cyclists, in-room movies, room service. Just a comfortable place,
Cons: I think they are doing a good job and working to be of service.
Location: Great location on the beach. Downtown nearby with restaurants, shops, movie theatres.
I've stayed at this hotel many times and always find it relaxing and a "happy" place to be. It is located right next to the beach boardwalk and is a short walk to downtown Ventura too. Great location.
