Decent hotel right on the beach. Beautiful views!

Posted Dec 14, 2014
This hotel has been around for a long time. We stayed for one night just so we didn't have to drive home after a party. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Nothing super fancy but worth the price. The staff was very friendly. It is near the train tracks but we didn't hear much! Overall a good hotel!

worst internet at a hotel

Posted Dec 1, 2014
Pros: the view is great.. location convenient
Cons: with only one functional elevator on a holiday weekend the lobby was overcrowded most of the time and it took way to long to get to your room.
Location: the area is great.. lots of restaurants and bars and art galleries .. and that view .. wow
They wanted to charge 10 extra dollars a day for internet that was completely unusable. Luckily I got them to reverse that charge.. however it would have been nice to actually have a stable internet connection for my stay. I also found a tick walking around on one of the beds on the last day.

Nice enough

The hotel is right next to the Ventura pier, which is awesome. The facilities are outdated but comfortable. Staff was friendly and accommodating. We would stay there again even though it really could use a facelift and some more comfortable beds.

Checking in spoils it

Posted Nov 7, 2014
Pros: Beach location.
Cons: Check in procedures.
We stood in line for over an hour just to check in. The lobby was full, line out the door at 4:00pm. No one from the hotel even acknowledged the problem. Once finally checked in, the elevators were locked down because of "an incident" and hotel staff told us to carry our own luggage up 4 flights to our room. If I wanted to schlepp 40 pounds I could have stayed home and gone grocery shopping. The room had a broken latch on the slider, blown fuses in the bathroom, and no emergency exit signs on the back of the door. It's a great location, but hotel staff needs some training on customer service skills.

Good quality hotel as we expected

Posted Nov 3, 2014
Pros: High grade of services
Cons: Would be helpful to know in and out rules of their parking lot when we checked in. But they solved our problems quickly.
Location: Ventura is in between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara. Small beach town for relaxation from the hustles and bustles of busy cities.
Hotel have fulfilled our special requirements. Their staff listened to our problems and solved promptly. We are very impressed with every pleasant greetings and eager helping hands.

Wonderful Views

Posted Oct 6, 2014
Pros: The views
Cons: The water smelled like sulfur. Maybe a better filtration system.
Location: The hotel is right on the beach and walking distance from the Ventura Pier
I got this room on the discount page. Upon arriving I had to park in a secured parking lot and wondered how expensive the parking was going to be. It was $12.00 which is reasonable for parking on the beach. The front desk upgraded me to a room on the 11th floor overlooking the ocean. I had a fabulous view of the ocean. There were very good restaurants within walking distance. This was one of the best hotels I have stayed at for business on the discount page.

Great place to stay in Ventura

Posted Sep 30, 2014
Cons: Free wifi and bottle of water
Location: right on the beach and easy walking distance to town.
We had a very nice stay while moving my son into UCSB. The hotel is right on the beach and easy walking distance to the town. The facilities at the hotel were great and the room was very nice. I only mark them down for trying to charge us for WiFi and also $5 for a bottle of water in our room. They could easily provide those facilities for free.

Even though this was an extremely nice hotel, I will NEVER go there again, and I can not recommend them to anyone who is a light sleeper. This hotel is too close to train tracks. I was unable to get adequate sleep due to being awakened one time the first night, and two times the second night. Trains are very BAD for light sleepers.
