Most rooms have a viewPosted Mar 10, 2014
Cons: Bathrooms have very little counter space
Location: Pier, many restaurants, movie theater and mission are within walking distance. Only a few miles from Marina Village.
Nice hotel. Paid for a full ocean view but most rooms have views so paying extra was unnecessary as I found out at check in. C Street restaurant (inside hotel) was good and location is right next to the pier which had a few more restaurants. Biggest con was being woken up early by the train. Tracks are right next to hotel. Also, at night there was no more parking in main lot so we had to go to the structure next door so that was a little bit of a hassle. I believe there were enough amenities to justify expense of rooms. There were no above average benefits/experiences compared to cheaper hotels I've stayed at. Bay view conference rooms are worth considering for your next event.

Perfect location!Posted Feb 26, 2014
Pros: Perfect location. Beautiful view. We sat out on our balcony and enjoyed watching the surfers.
Cons: Not a thing.
Location: Perfect location from the beach and downtown Ventura. We walked into town each night.
Wonderful experience with family and friends. My friends and I came up to be in the 1/2 marathon, 10k and 5k.

Nice location; rooms desperately need remodelingPosted Feb 25, 2014
Pros: Very nice location right on the beach. Lobby was clean and pleasant. Room was clean. Cons: The room doors and walls did not provide adequate insolation from noise. We could hear everything in the hall, from the neighbors, and those in the room across the hall. The nearby train woke up us up at night a couple of times. The air/heat fan was very loud. The beds were mediocre in quality and the mattress pads were too small for the mattresses adding discomfort. The bathroom was very small with no counter space. The room was small such that there was not enough space for a dresser which you would have at most hotels. The hall and room carpet was old and stained. This was the first time I stayed at a Crowne Plaza Hotel and I was very disappointed, especially for the cost. Hilton and Marriott are much nicer and cheaper. The only reason I would stay at the Crowne Plaza again would be for the location.

Okay Hotel to StayPosted Feb 19, 2014
Its a okay hotel to stay. Hotel lobby area is good but the rooms are small and look a bit old. This hotel also changes $12 parking fee.

Pit stop on our road tripPosted Feb 18, 2014
Pros: Convenient (right of the freeway). Rooms were clean.
Cons: Pretty much everything: attention to detail, updating the rooms, getting room service orders correct, making sure that basic amenties like PHONES work
Location: Close to the pier, downtown Ventura, the beach - easy walking distance to all of these.
This hotel was great for a quick overnight, but I could see being disappointed if you planned to stay there for a romantic weekend. First, the 'ocean view' rooms are not true ocean view, you would have to stand out on the balcony to see the beach. The hotel is right along an Amtrak train track, so it's LOUD when the train goes by, but it doesn't run too often. The location of the hotel is convenient for walking to the beach, pier, downtown Ventura, so that's a big plus, and the pool area looks inviting. We didn't get a chance to try the restaurant, again, it has more of a side view of the beach than anything else. And the biggest bummer was the rooms. They just feel older and like they desperately need a renovation. The bathroom is small, the carpet is a little stained and older looking and just overall, the rooms don't feel as clean or fresh as you would hope. We ordered room service (and discovered that the room phone wasn't working) and they messed up the order, twice, eventually we gave up on trying to get it right, but that was disappointing as well. I know it was busy and almost sold out, at least that's what we were told when we checked in, but overall there was a lack of attention to detail, indicated by the countless room service trays in the hallway that hadn't been cleared when we were trying to find our room, the phone issue and the room service problems. That said, we got a good night's sleep and woke up pretty much at the beach, ready to continue our drive home

A clean well lit place.Posted Feb 18, 2014
Pros: The staff and location to the town and beach.
Cons: See above.
Location: Main street is just great. Everything you could want hot or cold.
We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and had no problem checking in to our room. We decided to take advantage of the Lobby Bar happy hour. The service was good when it finally arrived. Having been in the service industry for many years, one thing holds true - assign specific people with specific tasks i.e. waiters/waitresses do their job and bartenders do theirs. Do not have one cross over into the other. That ways lies confusion;and that describes the Hotel bar staffs dilema. Too many cooks trying to do everything. Have two bartenders on during happy hour - one does the service end and the other takes care of the patrons sitting at the bar. Have the wait staff handle food and process the bar/food orders from the bartenders. Split the gratuity and alls right with the world.

Another nice stay!Posted Feb 9, 2014
Pros: Love the location, right next to the beach, love sitting on my balcony watching the joggers, bike-riders and surfers! Love close proximity to town.
Cons: Pet fee is too high. They should charge a smaller fee, and have a deposit which is refundable once they see the room is left in good shape.
Location: Breakfast at Pete's Cafe or Golden Egg are both terrific. Nice Indian Food place, Taj Mahal on Main Street.
I always enjoy staying at this hotel and have been back many times! Very comfortable and relaxing!
