Our view our room with a view was just the view of the pool not the ocean

Nice hotel by the ocean. Old school but updated. The air conditioner was right by my head in bed and blew right on me... Downside for sure.

Good location

Posted Oct 6, 2014
Pros: There is a sink in the bathroom and another one outside the bathroom.
Cons: Lose the paid parking for the hotel guests.
Location: The ocean. Golfing.
The rooms are okay. On the good side, there is a microwave and a frig in the room. On the bad side, the bed sucks. Our room was on the bottom floor against the sea wall therefore zero ocean view. The restaurant food was good, there was a lot of it and it was pricey. Having to pay to park is what won't make me go back or recommend the hotel to others. This hotel hosts conferences. I can understand having conference attendees pay to park since they can write it off and/or get reimbursed by their companies, but the guests are already paying to stay so to charge another $10 a night to park is just greedy. It's a nice looking property, but under the surface it's like a dressed up Motel 6.

Not very friendly

Posted Sep 30, 2014
Pros: Rooms were clean.
Hotel staff was not very friendly when we checked. We checked in (two rooms) on a weekday (late in the evening) and found most of the hotel to be empty. We were expecting a good room with nice view but ended up getting rooms at the very far end of the hotel and the worst location.

Expensive for what they don't offer

Posted Sep 16, 2014
Pros: It's seems to be clean enough
Cons: Parking, and a breakfast for weary travelers that didn't cost so much.
Location: Close to shopping, beaches and old town Ventura
The parking is $10.00 a day, no breakfast offered. No coffee offered in the lobby unless you pay for it. The restaurant is good, although pricey. Not enough toilet paper for 4 adults for a two night stay.

Pros: The bed was comfortable.
Cons: Some of the towels in our bathroom had stains on it. The carpeting felt musty and dirty to walk on barefoot.
I paid for a room with 2 queen beds, but because I booked through Expedia my room was not guaranteed. We ended up with 1 bed and a rollaway bed was provided for my son, which was less than comfortable.

This is a great value!

Very comfortable room. Most impressed by the value. If this were in Santa Monica or Santa Barbara it would cost twice the price. Very close to the Beach, right next to the harbor.

This is an old hotel, renovated, and is quite nice. The lack of receptacles make is difficult for two people to charge battery operated items, i.e., phones, tablets, etc.

Privately locate hotel with a pleasing ocean Breez

Posted Aug 8, 2014
Pros: The staff were very good, location was great. The cost of the room was very affordable.
Cons: The sauna was very small & not located in pool area. The restaurant should have had daily, affordable menu items. Too pricey to eat at daily.
Location: Ventura Harbour is 5 minutes away. Downtown area is a 5 minute car ride, as well as the pier. Beaches are a short walk as well as plenty of shopping.
It s a nice hotel, about a half mile from the Harbour. We always had a nice ocean breeze to greet us as we walked from the lobby to the west side of the hotel where our room was. The pool was nice, well maintained. The hot tub/sauna was too small & sort of old. The room was nice & the beds were very good. The restaurant was a bit too pricey & the number of patrons sort of reflected that priceyness.
