Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Ventura HolidaPosted Jul 27, 2013 on Hotels.com
A nice stay by Ventura Harbor. Restaurants a pleasant walk away while viewing the docks and many boats. Boat launch 1/2 mile away for kayaking the harbor and Ventura Keys.

Nice Balcony view of the harborPosted Jul 20, 2013
Pros: Close to village and loved the balcony view
Cons: Would of liked a jucuzzi and exercise room in the same location
Location: Great food and entertainment!
Nice rooms with the King size bed, loved the balcony view of the harbor. We were able to sit outside after our day and relax very peaceful. We were very happy because of the Harbor village we ate, had a nite cap and saw a great comedy show! All the patrons in the village were great host and made us feel very welcome, were coming back in Sept.

Disappointed in amenities being at SheratonPosted Jun 27, 2013 on Hotels.com
Location is beautiful, right on harbor (don't mind the bad fish smell); you can easily walk to shops and restaurants around the harbor. HOWEVER, very disappointed that pool and workout room are across the street at Sheraton Hotel. Tried breakfast on Sunday morning, didn't bother to go back Monday. We are not picky eaters, but eggs, bacon, biscuits, etc were not edible, too dry and tasteless. I didn't complain to staff, not their fault - apparently renovating hotel? A bit dated, so definitely needs a renovation. Room was clean and comfortable, but sparse.

Thank you for reviewing your recent stay with us. Our amenities are located at the Four Points Resorts because we used to be one entire property. Part of our renovations is going to be additional rooms as well as out own pool and work out room. We are just waiting on the Coastal Commission to approve our plans. As for our breakfast, unfortunately, we have no control over what we are allowed to serve. All items are sent to us from Holiday Inn Express. I have passed your concerns over to our regional manager . I hope that you choose to give us another try in the future.

Better than I expectedPosted Jun 20, 2013
Pros: Great view and better than average complimentary breakfast.
Location: Close to the Ventura Harbor, beach and bike paths.
Never stayed at a Holiday Inn until this visit.....I was impressed! Clean room with roomy bath/shower and nice view of the marina. Breakfast (complimentary) was pretty good. Self serve with plenty of attention by the hostess (refilling your coffee) and they have a pancake machine! Besides the standard cereal and danish, we had scrambled eggs and bacon. Rented a couple of bicycles and rode the bike path up along the beach.

Felt run downPosted Jun 14, 2013 on Hotels.com
First, I was surprised to see that I had to pay $10 to park in the parking lot at the hotel. Parking is free throughout the Ventura Harbor area except at the hotel. This is not San Francisco. Parking just isn't a problem around here, especially during this time of year. It should be included in the price of the room. Next, the staff couldn't get my room keys to work. After my third climb to the third floor, they finally came up with me to test the key. Didn't work. They got somebody to fix it by the time I got back from my run. The hotel had an overall feeling of being a bit run down on the inside. Odd smelling. It wasn't horrible, but that was my impression compared to other hotels in the area.

STOP PAY FOR PARK!!!Posted Jun 7, 2013 on Hotels.com
You must pat an additional $10 for parking when staying at this hotel. There is plenty of parking, no guard and it is park at your own risk. What is the extra $10 for??? The hotel is in Ventura.... Not SF, LA or a big city where parking is at a premium.

Convenient location close to everythingPosted Jun 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
Pro's - consistent Holiday Inn experience that you would receive anywhere, room was clean and had no issues. Short drive/walk to nearby beaches, shops and restaurants. Wife mentioned that when we go back to Ventura we should stay there again. Great value for what you received at that price range. Con's - $10/night parking fee per vehicle in uncovered/self parking around the facility. I understand this is to keep the motor homes away from the property or people wishing to stay for free, but $10 seemed a bit much so factor that in with your room cost.
