“Thanksgiving overnight”
Perfect overnight for our visit to Ventura and TG dinner at our cousin's home.
“Late Night arrival and no ocean view”
Why I did not give the hotel 5 rating is because of either Expedia did not put into writing what types of rooms I needed. Or becase I got the internet deal. I was not given the rooms I had requested & had paid for in advance. Thank goodness only 3 of my party of seven could make the trip. We arrived @ 2am only King sized beds were avaliable and no view of the ocean that I had wanted.
“Expected more from Marriott”
I've stayed at many Marriott hotels and from all my experiences, this was the worst. The service wasn't anything special. For example, we requested a king bed and when we arrived, they said they don't have any king beds. After saying that we wouldn't stay if we couldn't have a king bed, they all of a sudden had three options! I would not stay at this hotel again.
“Excellent accommodations”
Excellent
“Convenience to all, a good thing.”
Thank you Marriott Ventura Beach Hotel. Our family stay was ideal. Clean rooms, comfortable beds/pillows and best of all my husband was in top heaven that an In & Out was across the street. Beach was just like what was mentioned approx. 200 steps to beach and down one street. Staff was amazing as they beckoned to our every request or call....loved that. Fridge/microwave and roll away bed plus being on 1st floor with pool view was very accommodating with their help. Yes, I would stay here again and was so relaxed I didn't even want to go to a wedding on a Saturday evening.
“A pleasant overnight stop”
The service and condition of the hotel make this a good stop along highway 1. Internet and computer access is available in the hotel's business center and we were able to print out some maps for our next days drive. The double beds seemed small and be warned that although the hotel appears to have ample parking space there's a fee for parking your vehicle. The location isn't close enough to walk to anything if you have a young child. Overall we found Ventura to be a pleasant overnight stop and enjoyed walking the pier and spending time in the marina district.
“I really enjoyed Ventura”
I ant wait to go back to the same Hotel and hit the beach which was a short walk away.
“Not Your Typical Marriott Property”
Spent the weekend here for an event in Santa Barbara with the comfort of knowing what to expect with a Marriott property. Not your typical Marriott; an older property with just three floors surrounding a courtyard, but up to Marriott standards. Freeway convenient, thirty minutes to Santa Barbara, a short walk to the beach, very clean and comfortable rooms. Didn't spend much time in the immediate area but close to restaurants, gas stations and other stores.
“Imature Staff and ya pay for parking and coffee!”
When will nice hotels undertand the value of value? Basic principle: When I pay for a hotel room I expect service from mature hotel clerks, not pimple faced kids who think they have been well trained in the art of customer service. Also, why do hotels feel they have to charge for parking in thier own lot? When has this become such an accepted norm? Finally, How about offering us hotel guests a nice nice cup of coffee in the lobby for free, instead of charging us $2.50? On the positive side, rooms were very comfortable.
“beach nearby”
Nice quiet hotel. Walk about 3 blocks to the beach. No view from hotel. Need a car or taxi to get anywhere else.
