Beautiful old hotelPosted Dec 3, 2013
Pros: Beautiful dining room and very nice breakfast.
Cons: More electrical outlets. Two lamps lacked on knobs (we had to borrow from other lamps to turn them on).
Location: Beach is within walking distance. The main downtown is a short drive away.
The room seemed very old and had an overwhelming odor of air freshner.

Historic hotel close to beachPosted Nov 11, 2013
Pros: The location was great!
Cons: Hopefully the new owners will update some aspects of the hotel while keeping its charm. The room felt a little sparse in furniture and decor.
Location: Walk to the beach ad up to the pier! Great restaurants include Joe's Crab Shack and Cafe Nouveau . The Caarillo outlets are 15 min away.
Historic hotel walking distance to the beach and great restaurants. Clean room, comfortable beds, nice breakfast included in our package. Loved walking to the beach and across the street to Joe's Crab Shack for moonshine and fish.

A bit noisy .. our room was facing the 101..Posted Nov 5, 2013
Pros: We were overall quite pleased with our stay. gorgeous sunsets and an awesome beach.
Cons: I think considering the age of the property nothing should be messed with.. It might damage the lovely and historic hotel.
Location: being on the beach and in the heart of Ventura, everything was as close as could be.
We were reasonably comfortable in the room.. The bed was great.! the room was a bit noisy because it was facing the highway. We had issues keeping the room warm during a cold night. the thermostat was different. We enjoyed the staff and the grounds around the facility are lovely. A nice Sunday Breakfast buffet on the hotel too. My issues are miniscule really.

Pros: I liked the historical ambiance. And location
Cons: Serious update in rooms, cleanliness and service to the ones staying at hotel.
Location: Loved Ventura.
No maid service, no clean towels Saturday, food under bed, No signage for where ice could be found, noisy. Also no directions for television, apparently no movies.

A Pleasant Stay at an Historic HotelPosted Oct 29, 2013
Pros: Comfortable rooms, great shower access, beautiful grounds, easy access from Highway 101.
Cons: We had a hard time reading the sign that pointed to the Inn (after dark)
Location: Close to historic Ojai, across 101 from the beach great weather in October, many restaurants .
I graduated from UCSB in1959. Since my family lived in Southern California, I traveled back and forth between SB and SCal several times a year, passing the Pierpont Inn each time. After I married and moved to the SF Bay Area, we again passed through Ventura and the Inn several times a year. We often remarked that someday we really should stay at that friendly and comfortable looking hotel instead of rushing home The fresh sea air was invigorating, suggesting a walk or swim at the beach, which is accessed by a tunnel from the hotel. I asked the desk clerk how old this hotel is and his reply was that the hotel had been built in 1910. We have noticed renovations from time to time, some going on now. Well, this past week-end, we finally were able to take the opportunity to sample the ambiance of the Pierpont Inn. We found the employees very friendly and helpful, making sure that these two aging guests found their way around and were comfortable. They even were able to find a room for our daughter who had not planned to stay the night. We were disappointed that we were not able to sample the breakfast that was included with the night's stay. But we will definitely plan our next stay so that we may take advantage of the restaurant, pool, patios, and easy access to the beautiful beach. Our daughter agreed that this was a hotel that we want to plan to stay at again soon.

Clean close to BeachPosted Oct 24, 2013
Pros: Price was good. Close to the beach.
Cons: The rooms need a remodel.
Location: The beach is close, Ventura Harbor. Easy on and off the 101. Convenient location.
Decent place to say. The rooms could use a remodel. We only stayed one night for a wedding, so it was basic. It was clean but older. The doors really slam shut hard so you have to get used to that. Naps don't work well here for that reason. The free breakfast was okay. Rooms have an old smell and are dated.

The Web site picture was a Lie!Posted Oct 17, 2013
Pros: The staff was great.
Cons: Informing you that the hotel was built in 1910 and is slowly being renovated and that your room might not be like what you see on the web site.
Location: The grounds, restaurant and bar area were nice. Check with the locals for what to do or places to eat, they usually know the best places.
We went on the Pierpont Inn web site to see the rooms, they looked very nice. They showed a room with a bed, small table, nice comfortable chair and a balcony that you could sit out on. The room we were given was a very small corner room with no balcony,no table, no chair, nothing special. In the bathroom we set up the Ironing board so we could have a counter to place our toiletries. It was very disappointing.

Historic hotel with views of the oceanPosted Oct 2, 2013
Pros: It's historic.
Cons: The bathrooms!
Location: Easy access to the freeway, the harbor area, and downtown Ventura.
Sure it's an older hotel, and the rooms weren't up to par with a brand new Hilton, but we enjoyed our brief stay here. It's a cozy little historic hotel with a lot of character. The grounds outside the hotel are nice too. If you're used to staying in squeeky clean, modern hotels, you probably won't enjoy a stay here. The rooms aren't bad, but could use some updating. The only downside was the side of the hotel that faces the I-5 is kind of noisy.
