Very clean hotel, close to the beach. Staff was very helpful, and the bar/restaurant in the lobby was good.

Nice Marriott hotel but have seen cleaner ones. The entrance is nice the lobby nice but rooms for price need to be upgraded. The bed was nice and comfey and sheets clean. Staff friendly and location great. Overall nice stay and would stay again

Rude unhelpful staffPosted Sep 10, 2013 on Hotels.com
It is rare to find a hotel that is simply not interested in trying to accommodate the needs of it's guests. Won't be staying at a Marriott again.

You don't even get what you pay for!Posted Sep 10, 2013 on Hotels.com
Knowing that this is an inexpensive hotel I still expected to get what I paid for: two clean, non-smoking rooms, withing an hour of check-in time. Sadly, we had to wait 2 hours to get filthy rooms that stank of cigarette smoke and the choices were to take them as is or to wait one more hour for the 'ozone' machine to 'purify' them. We decided smartly to not stay here at all.

Cons: Late checkout for those running the marathon in the future. Rooms with functioning amenities: working phones, movie services and fire alarms
I ran the Ventura Marathon and my daughters did the fun run so we wanted to stay as close to the starting point as possible. We live pretty close by and could have easily just woken up early to get to the races, BUT we didn't want to be stressed out before the races and wanted to be pampered. Let me stress, THIS DID NOT HAPPEN. Many racers stayed at the hotel, but they didn't allow anyone to do a late checkout. The race started at 7am and they expected us to run 26 miles and check out of our hotels by 12! When I called to ask for late checkout, my phone wasn't working. There were 2 phones in the room so I just tried the other one only to find it was non-functional as well! We decided to order a movie, but the remote wasn't letting us select any movies. They sent a technician down and found out that 100+ rooms had no movie service! In addition, the fire alarm kept beeping intermittently whenever anyone used the shower. I spoke with the manager to let him know I was displeased with my stay. I suggested that next year they make allowances for late checkout. He nodded his head to each of my requests and complaints and politely told me that he couldn't guarantee anything. My 1 night stay involved technicians coming in and out of my room and the manager made me feel like my problems weren't his problems.

Can not go wrong! Great Property, Great Staff!Posted Sep 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
We enjoyed our stay from before check-in thru to check-out! From the time the Valet Staff met us (we did not valet park) until we checked out the staff treated us very well; all the staff was incredibly helpful in pointing out the local sights, food & drinking establishments. We will be back!

Hotel is near the beach .. but it is datedPosted Sep 4, 2013
Pros: Lobby and staff
Cons: New carpets
The rooms need to have a new carpet its old looking and they always have the old smell. As well as the curtains iron board was bent you just don't get that feel like you should spend over a hundred dollars for the room .. Lobby was nice and workers as well nice. but then again its only Ventura.. I don't feel guest should pay for parking either ..

Pros: Location to beach
Cons: Coffee pot in room, please, but I simply can't afford your breakfast.
Location: A little far from Main Street but close to the beach
I have never been to motel much less a hotel that did not have free coffee in the room. That is just crazy. But the beds were comfortable and the staff very friendly.
