Great hotel, close to down town

Posted Aug 18, 2014
We had a great stay here. The courtyard is beautiful and relaxing. And the free trolley ride to downtown was perfect and convenient. Hotel staff was very accommodating, especially when a drunk idiot pulled the fire alarm at 1 am. Would definetly go back.

Got robbed by spending money on this Marriott.

Posted Jul 28, 2014
Pros: My favorite part about this hotel was leaving.
Cons: Run it like every other Marriott I've ever been to.
Location: Beautiful Beaches!
This has to be one of the WORST Marriott hotels I have ever stayed in. I am surprised they are allowed to maintain the Marriott name. The front desk staff was incredibly rude and acted like I was the one who errantly made my trip reservation when it was the clerks inability to locate it in their system (Her co-worker came over and found it just fine) and by then I had dealt with plenty of attitude. Second, the room smelled like smoke, and was not clean. The wastebaskets (which do not contain bags) were dirty and you could smell them. The bathroom was not clean, not even close. I am not a fan of finding the previous customers pubic hair on the toilet seat.

Great location, I wouldn't have high expectationso

Posted Jul 24, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Needs a facelift, new beds and fluffy pillows
Location: Fairgrounds, walking path
There was no mini fridge or bar in the room. The pillows were lumpy and the bed was not comfy. The cardio equipment at the gym was nice but the weight machines were old.

Thank you for taking the time to post your experience at Ventura Beach Marriott. We currently are in the process of replacing all of the foam pillows in the hotel and regret we were unable to provide the sleeping experience you desired. Our location provides small refrigerators upon demand on a first come first serve basis for future reference. We certainly will look into our fitness center free weights and evaluate the current status due to your concern. I understand your displeasure with our hotels décor and can assure you we are working on a property improvement plan to address the interior design of our property. Our hope is to have the updated Marriott hotel great room and new guestroom concept by 2015. Our goal is to address your concerns so that we can ensure you have an exceptional experience on your next visit.

Won't stay at Marriott in the future

Posted Jul 20, 2014
Have had better stays at holiday inn express .... Rooms are dated and need cleaning ... The extra costs including water and internet etc.... Rediculous considering the cost of the room. Will avoid Marriott in the future.

A little bit crowded and noisy because of the wedding party of young age. Great staff. See you next year ... Thanks K. Crocker

Clean hotel close to the beach

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Nothing bad I can say about this hotel. Good for families. Full bar.Breakfast available for a charge though. Wireless has a charge too and parking. Other than those things, clean, nice. Ecor, friendly staff, comfortable room. TV is small though. Still would recommend.

No free parking no free internet

Posted Jul 14, 2014
They charge $16 for valet parking and $13 for self parking. I understand they don't want beach goers at a nearby state beach park to park their cars at the hotel freely. But the hotel can still set it up so the quests get to park for free. No free internet except in the lobby area.

Thank you for taking the time to post your experience at Ventura Beach Marriott. Our Hotel is located next to the San Buenaventura state beach and the local demand for parking can be significant which leads to the need for parking staff and gates which in turn leads to a parking fees. I can also understand your displeasure with an additional cost however guest expectations for Internet access are growing exponentially; AT&T forecasts 40% annual bandwidth demand growth in the United States. The hotel is up against rising costs and tiered Internet provides a needed business model change that produces revenue to help balance bandwidth and cost so we may deliver superior connectivity to our guest. You’re a valued customer; everything we do is aimed at providing you with an excellent hotel experience.
