Convenient location

Posted Jan 2, 2015
Pros: Good location
Cons: Very dated and beds, bedding need to be updated.
Location: Main street is about a 10 minute drive, coast is 5 minutes
The hotel is clean, but definitely needs an update in the rooms. We also had a problem with the heating, and it was like a sauna in our room all night. Staff was very friendly.

Nice hotel close to beach with a nice restaurant

Posted Jan 2, 2015
Pros: The entire hotel was very well maintained, and there were always staff around, and they were always amazing.
Cons: More and/or bigger pillows on the bed.
Location: A block from the beach, short drive to downtown, short drive to the harbor.
Very comfortable and convenient. The bed was amazing, and the patio outside the room was very nice. It had cozy feel when you entered the lobby. It was Christmas so there were beautiful decorations all around.

Shabby, NOT chic

Posted Dec 31, 2014
Pros: Exterior decorations
Cons: The rooms need serious updating.
The exterior is beautiful, especially since it was decorated for Christmas. The plaque out front indicating the hotel as a historic place was encouraging and the lobby was very nice. The rooms? AWFUL!! We booked two too rooms and the heat wasn't working properly in either. In one room, it wouldn't turn on and in the second room, it wouldn't turn off. We checked in quite late and the woman at the desk offered to move us, but she recommended that we try the heat in the other rooms first. Good idea, since both rooms were blowing cold air! The furniture was cheap, worn and In the case of the upholstered chair and ottoman, stained and just plain nasty. The tile in the showers was so gross that no one dared set foot inside. We had booked these rooms for six nights, but checked out after enduring just one night. I wouldn't let my worst enemy stay in this place.

When it Rains it Pours

Posted Dec 22, 2014
Pros: The view and the staff.
Cons: The management needs to hire a plumber for emergency situations.
Location: There are many great restaurants and shops in this cozy beach town.
I really liked the Pierpont, the staff and the location. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas and I was ready to have a nice relaxing stay. That being said, perhaps I just had a unique experience. Here are the absurd highlights to my adventure at the Pierpont Hotel. I took a shower at 5:10am and the water wouldn't shut off. I tried many times but it simply keep running. I called the front desk who sent in the Security Guard to help. Really? The hotel does not have an emergency back up plan for plumbing issues during late night or early morning hours? The Security Guard was as helpful as he could be, notwithstanding, HE IS NOT A PLUMBER! After two trips for various tools, he gave up. I need to express that I was driving from Ventura to Los Angeles and was on a strict time schedule. The front desk kept calling and someone keep knocking on my door all the while I'm trying to get ready in a steamy area next to the bathroom (steam is not a girl's best friend). Another man showed who was clearly not a plumber and he was able to curtail part of the water flow. To make a long story short, the water ran for 1.5 hours and was still on when I left. I hope this scenario will teach the Manager of this hotel that pre-planning is imperative for any situation that may arise. Security Guards are on the premises to protect the customers and their property not to be deft with plungers. EPIC FAIL. Would I go back? Of course, it's a lovely hotel and everyone is entitled to a second chance.

Nice hotel with great views

The Pierpont is an older hotel. Our room was updated and clean. The bathroom was dated and in need of some TLC. Restaurant on site is good with very friendly waitstaff.

Worst Hotel Experience Ever

Posted Nov 30, 2014
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything
Location: Not sure as we got out of town as soon as possible.
Don't ever stay here. They have ONE room that matches the photos online. The rest remind me of a state mental institution room.

Thanksgiving Retreat + Excellent Buffet dinner

Posted Nov 29, 2014
Pros: Availability of private cottages with fireplaces and small courtyards Large meeting rooms - that can easily accommodate 300-500+ guests
Cons: The faucet controls for the shower and the sink in the bathroom need to be replaced / repaired
Location: Convenient to Santa Barbara, Ojai, Santa Paula, Oxnard. The Rhumb Line restaurant in the Ventura Harbor Marina is an excellent choice.
I booked two nights at the hotel and also made reservations for their Thanksgiving Buffet dinner. Although this hotel is close to the 101 highway - when we were in our room, we didn't hear any of the traffic. On our arrival, we stopped in the bar/restaurant and had a glass of wine and delicious crab cakes as a light dinner. Our room (#417) was spacious, convenient to the parking lot, and offered sliding glass door access to the pool area. The room includes a microwave, small fridge, and a coffee maker. Wifi reception is excellent - and high speed. The grounds of the hotel are well kept - and the view from the bar/restaurant are spectacular - with a clear day, you can enjoy watching sailboats cruising out to the Channel Islands.

Cool hotel. But you make your own story.

Posted Nov 24, 2014
Liked it but like my title says u make your own story. Only that the remote for the tv at the room had trouble with it other than that it was all good. No problems at all.
