Cons: A hot tub that is part of the property, not at a spa across the street for an extra fee.

Nice large room

Posted Aug 15, 2014
Older hotel but great location, comfortable beds, great price, large roomy rooms and quiet. Overall a great place to stay! The bathroom could use some updating but was clean and functional.

Older Historic Hotel that has Great Potential

Posted Jul 30, 2014
I booked an air conditioned room but did not get one.(Note: although it says they have air conditioned rooms they are few in number and you must confirm it and get there early in the day.) I arrived at 4:00 pm and they were completely booked. So I had to sleep with the sliding glass door to the balcony open--nice ocean breeze flowed into the room as long as the door into the room was also open. There was an older ceiling fan but it was sooo loud. Bed was very comfortable with very nice linens and faced the ocean view. Bath was old, could be remodeled and still retain the period of the hotel (built in1910). Room configuration was interesting with bath at front that afforded quite a bit of privacy in the room itself. The bed positioned with ocean views also overlook Hwy 101 and the traffic noise diminished with the evening but was definitely still there. there is a restaurant but I didn't eat there. No market to purchase water or soft drinks. Interestingly, all of our neighbors were aware that everyone's doors were open and so were courteous and for the most part very quiet, even the families at the pool.

Great hotel for the price !

Posted Jul 26, 2014
Pros: Staff, Location, and Price
Cons: No refrigerators in the room, air conditioner didn't work well and the second floor got pretty warm
Location: Walk South on Harbor to get to Pierpoint for man fish taco locations. Dukes burgers was popular as was Social Tap... has the feel of a cute beach town
The hotel was a quick walk to the ocean about, 2 minutes and a twenty minute walk from Downtown Ventura which was filled with amazing food and many bars/nightlife. The rooms were a little dated but very clean and it is by the 101 so if you are a light sleep it may not be the best place, but I wasn't bothered at all by the light noise. EVERYONE that worked at the hotel were amazing, nice, accommodating etc. The housekeeping staff was smiley and sweet, front desk was great, even the bartenders at the restaurant were amazing people... A staff. Over all I recommend this hotel... go for it

Disappointed in Ventura

Posted Jul 23, 2014
A historical hotel in serious need of updating .the rooms are small and sad. No air condition in my room and the noise from the freeway makes for a very sleepless night. Dated decor add to the drearyness. The staff made up for the no ac by Giving us a voucher for a free breakfast . Which has a friendly staff but mediocre food. I would not Recommend this hotel.

Beautiful grounds, clean, dog friendly, near beach

Posted Jul 22, 2014
Very friendly and helpful staff. Old hotel i(renovated) in a beautifully landscaped setting close to beach and paved biking/walking path. Dog friendly. Restaurant serves guests with dogs on outdoor patio area. Some road noise from US 101 freeway. Has very pretty outdoor setting for small wedding and reception. We took our Labradoodle and Golden for 5 nights. Nice beaches that are not crowded. Loved the stay.

This Inn was very quaint. The rooms were very clean, bed , linens, pillows were great. Shower was dated. Restaraunt lovely with a beautiful ocean view. Walk to the beach less than 5 min.!!! Awesome history behind this landmark inn.

Spacious room, comfortable bed

Posted Jul 19, 2014
Pros: Clean room and view.
Clean and spacious room, beautiful setting, comfort bed, close to the beach. Check in time is 4:00 p.m. Asked early check-in, but not available. Asked to call me back when a room is ready, but front said too busy to give me a call. Asked me to call back again. Overall, like this hotel. Booked for the next trip already.

pretty blah

Posted Jul 13, 2014
Pros: location
Cons: hotel staff need training on customer service. Let guests know there is no elevator. repair the bathroom door.
The hotel staff acted like we were bothering them when we checked in and out. Definitely mediocre customer service. There was no elevator, we had to bounce our bags down the stairs to our room then haul them back up in the morning. The bathroom door did not close all the way. The room was not carpeted making it feel cold and institutional. The shower was not enclosed and very drafty. The view we had was of the street behind the hotel.
