expensive for below average

Pros: Nothing really. Mattress was comfortable.
Cons: bathroom, service, grounds, cost. if can't be improved that should be reflected in what it cost to stay there
Location: easy to get to. nothing close by. had to go about 10 miles or so to next town for anything but gas.
Don't be fooled. Paying a lot for a room doesn't guarantee a good experience. we paid 130$ a night for a super 8 experience. grounds-plain. room plain. bathroom-old and the fan didn't work. Breakfast was ok-had no omelets for about 20 minutes. Room smelled musty and damp. Sheets even felt wet we we laid down to sleep. Didn't put out the "no service" sign. They came in and emptied the trash and left some new towels but did nothing else. Wi-fi was "ify". Family next to us immediately complained about the room but were not satisfied with the staff explanation and attempts to clean room. No options for them so they reluctantly stayed. I have stayed in other Hampton Inns and this one is far from meeting expectations.

Right off of I-29 in a more residential area. There was a mobile home park kitty corner from the hotel, but nothing that made me concerned about safety. Not an issue at all. Just doesn't make for breathtaking scenery, but all I wanted to do was sleep! Minimal dining options, but I had not been to a Taco John's for YEARS and there was one right down the street! If you want more dining options I suggest staying in Sioux City, IA. I had a room on the first floor and it was quiet. I was in a huge room furthest from the interstate so I heard zero road noise. I was given a king size bed (what I requested online) with a whirlpool because it was one of the only pet friendly rooms with a king bed available. Thumbs up for accommodating a guest even though it meant giving them a whirlpool room for no additional charge! Loved it! Very comfortable bed. AC was average for noise level. My room faced a courtyard area with birds and rabbits. This kept my cats entertained after a long drive from Indianapolis area. Pretty sure I was not charged a pet fee like other hotels did on my trip. Very clean lobby and very nice staff. They had coffee, tea, and watermelon infused water available in the afternoon. The breakfast was excellent as always for a Hampton. Hit the spot. An employee was refilling hot items well before they were empty. I stayed in 4 hotels during my cross country journey and this one was by far my favorite. If you're headed north on I-29, hold off on your AM coffee and stop by Coffea Roasterie in Sioux Falls, SD. I had an amazing latte!

My husband and I only stayed one night but the staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. Our room was also comfortable. We would definitely stay again.
