“Nice Hotel but...”
My first stay and I booked an ocean view suite not knowing these rooms were in a separate building a half mile away from the main hotel. Nice room but it would have been nice to know that the other couples we were vacationing with would be in a building that far away. The only real complaint I had was they tried to tack-on a parking fee to the bill and they were sneaky about it. Never once was a parking fee mentioned or posted - it just showed-up on my bill the morning I checked-out. I went to the front desk to complain - the amount is no big deal but it's the principle. They immediately agreed to waive the fee so of course I told my friends to do the same and it was waived for them as well. Obviously they are prepared to waive it so why try to sneak a fee onto my bill?
“Just so...so. Won't return”
Run of the mill hotel. Not beachfront at all. Just OK. Jacuzzi was disgusting. If I were looking for a resort setting, this would not be it. I stayed there to play golf in the area. Had I been expecting a resort, I would have been quite dissapointed. There are much better beachfront, resort hotels in the area. The restaurant was just OK. Much better restaurants in the surrounding area. Spend a few more dollars and have a good time elsewhere
“would definitely go back”
the marriot was very clean, comfortable. lots of space to walk and bike ride. the pool was nice and an attentive staff there. however i thought having to rent a beach chair at the beach was unfair. this should be included in the fees they charge per day. otherwise very nice stay.
“Great location and great staff”
Just completed a 4 night stay, and found the property to be very good overall. Nice room, Very nice, frendly staff across the board, and very attractive outdoor areas. Not an inexpensive place as far as food and drink go however. My biggest complaint was for a $10.00 a day parking fee. This at a place surrounded by paved lots which were never filled more than 20% during my stay. (Sept in Fla. is not exactly the height of the tourist season). Other than this, I found the place to be very nice.
“Will return next year”
My sister rents a condo at the resort each year while vacationing from New Jersey so we stay at the hotel for a few days to visit with her. We arrived at the hotel at noon and they let us check into our room early. My daughter was arriving the following day with her family and they arranged so that she was given the room next door to us. The front desk was very helpful and friendly.
“Port St. Lucie Trip”
The Marriott Hutchinson Island seemed to be somewhat weary from hurricane damage. The hotel structural condition is not representative of other Marriott's I've stayed at around the world. For example, the junior suite seemed like it was damp and had a slight mold or mildew smell. The workout facitilites were nice and the pool service was excellent. Overall, it seemed to be the nicest hotel in the area as the surrounding hotels were not even an option.
“Friendly, efficient staff.”
This hotel is dated, but clean and well-maintained. The best thing about it is the friendliness of the staff. We also liked the nearby amenities, such as the executive golf course. It is a short drive to downtown historic Stuart, a great place for dining and shopping. I would definitely return.
“Be careful booking this Hotel with Expedia”
Total confusion over room type booked. No agreement with Expedia and Mariott in place.
“Nice grounds, but average rooms.”
The resort itself is beautifully laid out. The buffet breakfast and waiting staff were terrific and very accomodating. We had a room in the hotel and it was pretty average. Although the furniture/fixtures were nice, the room was a bit worn and tired. We did expect more, but would go back as the overall experience was fine.
“Won't go back”
This hotel is a rip off! The rooms were nice but the cleaning staff was horrible. They take over the elevators for hours every morning. Every time we tried to get in the elevator it was full of staff and huge carts full of trash or laundry. They would not move over and make room for you. They just hit the close door button and went on. Some of the cleaning staff do not speak english and it is took me 5 minutes to explain for them to come back later because my daughter was in the bathroom. The fire alarms went off at 6am due to someone burning toast. 12 hours later they went off again because the elevator motor burnt up. The elevators were down for days. The manager had a meeting to discuss the elevators at 6:30am. Who wants to get up that early on vacation!!! They charge for beach chairs and internet. The internet was 12.95 a day! Will never stay here again and will avoid Marriotts from now on!
