Very tropical beach atmosphere and morePosted Jul 21, 2015
Pros: We were made to feel like family and not guests.
Cons: I like softer pillows, but the quantity of pillows was good.
Location: The beaches were good and not crowded in Summer. Movies and shopping available in Vero Beach.
We were delighted with the ambiance of the Mellon Patch, the banana trees, mangroves and dock, sea grapes and beach art. The other delight was the excellent breakfast by our British chef. The location was great for us and there are no other B&Bs so close to the parks and the beach.

Staying at the Mellon Patch was like staying at a friends home! Cady and Chris were very welcoming and whatever you needed they were right on it. We were down looking for properties and as it turned out the condo we are high on is directly across the street. If we buy we look forward to staying close with them both and using them for out of town guests. Chris try getting that pool in sooner than later.

Very nice mid-range B&BPosted Mar 22, 2015
Pros: Location, breakfasts, setting, large and comfortable room.
Cons: Need to seal up that window opening. Ceiling fans need to be replaced--seriously out of balance and not usable.
Location: SEAL/UDT museum, Manatee center, several botanical gardens (small but quite nice), Endless Summer Vineyard (surprisingly good!), terrific beaches.
Very nice B&B I'd place in the mid-tier. Good location just across A1A from an excellent public access beach. Grounds are attractive and the rear faces onto a canal with black mangroves and palms. Great rear deck. We stayed in the suite, which is the largest room; has a terrific bath with soaking tub, large shower and double sink vanity. Lots of natural light. Room has an unglazed window opening on the common area below, so can be a bit noisy if there are late-night gatherings, but host says he plans to seal up the window, which should take care of that. Breakfasts, served buffet style, were excellent, (particularly the breakfast burritos!!). Very much enjoyed our stay.

The Mellon PatchPosted Mar 13, 2015 on Hotels
I had a wonderful & restful stay at the Mellon Patch. I was down in the Vero area on business and needed to stay in a reasonable price range for accommodations. I fell in love with the place and will be back for my next trip in Oct/2015. Highly recommend/ Great breakfast by Chris

Nice B&B across the street from beachPosted Mar 12, 2015
Pros: Quiet and super close to beach and state parks. Many amenities.
Location: We spent most of our time at the free beach access with free parking and the many state parks.
We had a wonderful time in a clean, comfortable and quiet room with lots of amenities and very close to the beach and many state parks. Many free beach access and parking. Chris and Michele are wonderful hosts that go above and beyond to make sure that you are comfortable.
