Deservedly popular hotelPosted Aug 10, 2013
Pros: It's location
Cons: No dinner available, but lots of nearby restaurants.
Location: A good location, minutes from the railway station and yet a nice stroll from the hotel and you are in the city centre by the roman arena.
A warm and friendly welcome on arrival. A nice well furnished room. Breakfast good (except for some stale bread). The hotel is obviously popular with tourists, opera goers, and business people. And it's easy to see why. It gets right the things to make a stay comfortable and relaxing.

Small bedroom but hotel in good locationPosted Jul 18, 2013
Cons: Bed room small and bed too low and too firm
Location: Walking distance from centre
Hotel is in a great location, only a short walk from the centre. Staff very friendly, breakfast lovely. The room felt a bit cramped and small and the bed was very low and a little bit too firm. But was clean.

Good hotel for sightseeing Verona and its region.Posted Sep 14, 2012
The hotel is well located, about 15 minutes walk from the railway station and bus station and about 10 minutes from the city centre. The staff are friendly and helpful, and most speak reasonable English. The rooms have good facilities and are cleaned very well each day. Minor problems with the facilities are dealt with very promptly. Breakfast offers a wide range of food, including cooked, all very fresh and high quality. My wife and I stayed here on holiday, and enjoyed our stay.

attention to detailPosted Jul 5, 2012
Pros: decor, ambience
Cons: annoying problems in the room and internet
Decor excellent, staff very helpful but some annoying problems. The air conditioning unit was leaking, the shower door was not attached properly and the bathroom door caught on the wash basin when you tried to close. Also the internet connectivity was very poor. The air conditioning problem was fixed but not the rest.

Visit to Verona May 2012Posted May 23, 2012
Good central hotel for visiting the sights of Verona. Staff and service were excellent. Hotel lacks a restaurant, which I find strange for a city 4 star hotel; however this was not a problem as we did use restaurants recomended by the hotel and they were fine. All in all a very pleasant stay and I would recomend this hotel to friends. One thing I would say is that the original room allocated was very small, dark interior with a restricted view and situated at the rear of the building. I did request a room change and this was given immediately. If anyone is going to stay here I would suggest booking a balcony room at the front of the hotel. Although there is traffic noise, the rooms are much better, lighter and slightly larger.

Location is the best benefitPosted Oct 5, 2011 on Hotels.com
This hotel is located steps from San Marco Square. Excellent street and location if you want to stay in the heavy tourist center. Downside is the hotel hasn't been updated since its inception and screams 1973 with its decor. Night clerk was nice but day clerk couldn't bother with the guests. I even watched him reply to some guests when they asked what was nice to see in a specific neighborhood on their map- that the neighborhood had nothing of interest. I, working in Italian tourism was baffled as the neighborhood is heavy with off the beaten path sites- churches, spots of interests that with a few marks on the guests map, would have made their stay in Venice better. This hotel was decent but I would say that because of the location and the fact that they are always going to have people staying, they don't try. Also, breakfast was dry rolls and jam.

Great place for s short visit!Posted Jul 1, 2011
Verona is a beautiful city....although one / two days allows a visitor to experience a great atmospher and see the sites. Grand Hotel is ideally located just a few minutes from the city walls and entrance to the historical centre. The area around the Roman Arena is wonderful, with many bars and restaurants. What a pity the opera season missed out on the night of my visit...but a tour of the Arena is a must! Plenty of other narrow streets, alleys and piazzas to tempt the imagination, with most areas of interest within loop of the attractive river. A lovely city...and the hotel provided a first class base.
