QualityPosted Jul 6, 2014
First time here. Quality from the greeting at the front door and reception to a beautiful room overlooking the garden/courtyard its very unusual in its styling in the rooms but thats a good thing except bit awkward to get into the jacuzzi bath, lovely matress and we had a turndown service as well. Breakfast very goos full continental buffet with the option of requesting eggs and bacon good coffee.

Gorgeous old world hotelPosted May 15, 2014 on Hotels.com
I loved this gorgeous old world hotel where the traveller is treated as a special guest. The conservatory is charming with its quirky decor & talking parrot. Beautifully decorated. Perfect location.

Magical Hotel... was the finest of our Italy trip!Posted Oct 20, 2013
Pros: It's charm and elegance
Cons: Not one thing
Location: The Piazza Erbe in the evening, the Tower, the coloseum and of course Juliette's Balcony. Enjoy
Verona is a quaint small city and should be included on any Italy itinerary - make your stay memorable a book a room at the Hotel Gabbia d'Oro. You will not be disappointed.

Great location, helpful staffPosted Oct 7, 2013
This hotel was very clean and the staff were very helpful and nice. The decor was very lavish but not very modern, if you like minimalism this isn't the htoel for you. The location couldn't have been better ten meters off Piazza Erbe, and surrounded by nice places to eat and drink and shop. The two things I did not like is that considering the high cost of the hotel breakfast should really be included, they charge around 15 euro for it, which is what you can expect to pay for a meal at a mid-price restaurant in Verona. Igot my own breakfast in a cafe for a few euros. Also, the two parrots in a barren cage in a back room was sad to see, they seemed to be there for decorative purposes which is not right.

Charming in every way.Posted Sep 10, 2013
Pros: Charm, comfort, location and staff.
Location: Piazza della Erbe, Dante Piazza, St Anatasia, Porta Romana, Arena, Castlvecchio, Theater Romana, etc Endless cafes to enjoy the views!
Gabbia d'oro is a charming hotel of comfort and grace. Every feature in our room was exquisite and the service was perfect. The hotel is located right off Piazza della Erbe. You can walk to everything within 10 minutes. The staff parked our car when we arrived and we didn't need it until we departed. The staff went above expectations to help with everything about our experience enjoyable. Being able to stroll to and from the Arena for the opera on a beautiful evening was the highlight of our stay.We had an early flight home from Milan so they delivered breakfast before 6:00am. This is an expensive hotel and so breakfast, laundry service, tea, etc are equally expensive. However, if you are splurging on one location during a trip in northern Italy, this might be the one. It was the final stay of our trip and it complements beautiful Verona perfectly.

Fantastic staff and great locationPosted Aug 11, 2013 on Hotels.com
The Hotel Gabbia d'Oro is in a great location and with fantastic staff who really went out their way to ensure we got the most out of our trip. The room had a lot of charm, and breakfast was very nice too. The whole hotel is quite grand, but with lots of little rooms to relax in and explore, many of which feel like walking around a slightly bizarre antique shop. However it is very expensive given that some of the hotel is a bit run down, but we still really enjoyed our stay.
