Hotel close to Arena and all sites of interest

Posted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: Comfortable room and location-great if you are going to the Opera.
Cons: Breakfast
Location: sEE ABOVESEE
First class hotel in every respect but one. Room had very large very comfortable bed and excellent effective air conditioning. Bathroom large and comfortable to use. The hotel lounge was also very pleasant. The one disappointment was the breakfast. Possibly, the poorest that I've come across in the many hundreds of hotels I've stayed in. The fruit was canned, the yoghurts sweet and unpleasant and a limited selection of alternatives. Better just booking the room, since there are dozens of places to get breakfast inexpensively within 200 yards of the hotel.

Clean, comfortable hotel in a great location.

Pros: The free wifi. Since I was travelling by myself for a conference, it was important to be able to communicate with loved ones. I could skype everyday.
Cons: The free breakfast is nice, and the staff were wonderful, but more variety in the food would be nice. I got tired of eating the same thing everyday.
Location: The location is perfect. I could walk everywhere. It is just a stone's throw from Piazza Bra, and easy to find if you look for the McDonalds.
I spend almost a week here, and the entire experience was very positive. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, and I had a private balcony that overlooked a quiet area with trees. I was a bit disappointed that I was here a month before opera season opened, but one evening I opened my balcony door and heard an opera singer practicing somewhere below. I sat out on my balcony and enjoyed listening to her. My last day there, I checked out, left my luggage in an area of the lobby that I was assured was secure, and I spend the day sightseeing before my flight that night. My belongings were safe, and I was able to use the hotel lobby to rest and use wifi before getting a taxi to the airport. The wifi in the lobby was not as strong as in my room, but it was OK for sending e-mail messages and posting some pictures from the day on Facebook.

All is great, location, staff, breakfast, comfort

Posted May 6, 2014
Pros: Location, high standard, room furnishing, breakfast, Staff, Supermarket nearby, everything
Cons: The lift....probably hard to do....it had an upgrade obviously, but only to where customers can see....the core of the lift is still 1950's
Location: Buses 11, 12 take you to Piazza Bra, 3 stops from train station. The main square, amphitheater, restaurants, shops are all at your door step
Wonderful. Obviously an old hotel just recently had a upgrade and done a good job. Great 3-star hotel, entrance is off the main road, behind McDonald's, quiet and pleasant. Opposite to the amphitheater, means any buses that go to Piazza Bra will take you there. Verona is a beautiful town, food is great, not expensive. Hotel includes breakfast, has cereals, ham, cheese, bread rolls, boiled eggs, coffee/tea. Nice. Love the location, the staff are great, hotel appearance pleasing. We had a standard double room, room size is good by European standard, modernly furnished, everything functions well, no bath but a shower chamber (which suits us better) Supermarket PAM just next door. Thanks Hotel San Luca

Safe choice

Posted Apr 24, 2014
Pros: Location, value for money.
We walked to the hotel from the railway station, about a mile downhill. Took a taxi when we left, around 10 euros. The San Luca is well placed just outside the historic quarter and a stone's throw from the Arena. Breakfast was standard continental fare; staff were genial and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. All in all a safe choice if you're planning a city break or using Verona as a base. There's a pleasant bar and lounge we didn't use.

Pros: the room was clean and the staff were friendly
Location: All the local attractions are nearby and the train station is only a short walk allowing you to visit other places nearby like Venice for the day.
Lovely room, clean and comfortable, the staff are friendly and very helpful. Ideal location to visit all the main sights from this hotel and it's also just off the street so is not noisy at night. overall a great place to stay.

Perfect location to see the main areas of Verona

Posted Mar 24, 2014
Pros: Very comfortable , excellent breakfast choice and a perfect location to see the main areas of Verona
Location: The hotel is based close to the Arena which is a 2000 year old Roman colosseum and close to most of the main plaza areas of the small city of verona.
An excellent 4 day holiday which included one day in Venice. Verona is a very interesting historical city to visit and perfect for a short stay.

I have stayed at this hotel before

Posted Oct 27, 2013
Pros: Every thing, spotless, great breakfast, nothing too much trouble for the staff.
Cons: no
Location: Think I covered that, but yes right in the centre of Verona land near the tourist office, near the railway station, we went to Venice and Lake Garda
This Hotel is right in the centre of Verona, a couple of minutes walk from the Arena, Juliets house all the restaurants and tour buses and you just walk out and you are in the centre of this wonderful City. The staff are very helpful and recommended fantastic restaurants, the Casa Vino being round the corner on the Via Roma, best food ever. there is the Piazza Bra a bit tourisy but nice place to have a coffee and people watch, fantastic for the opera season.

Excellent in every way

Posted Oct 17, 2013
Pros: The Staff, the location, and the quality for the price that is paid
Cons: Nothing
We have stayed in a number of hotels, and many in Italy. This is a well run, clean and ideal hotel to see Verona from. Its location is great, so close to Piazza Bra and therefore the Arena, and as Veronas main sights are compact , its ideal for covering them all easily on foot. The hotel is very welcoming, the staff are amongst, if not the best and nicest we have met in Italy. Nothing is too much trouble, and we felt valued, and respected. Would we stay again? Oh yes, 100% yes. Thank you Hotel San Luca.

Excellent location, great service

The location for the price was excellent. Breakfast that was included in the room rate was also very helpful and welcomed. The room itself was small, but you wouldn't really spend most of your time in the room anyways because the location was so close to the plaza.

Nice hotel, very close to Arena di Verona

Posted Oct 8, 2013
The location of hotel is very good, 5 min walk to Arena di Verona, it has a self parking but pretty easy to find, you pay 1 Eur from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and the night is free. Hotel is clean , staff friendly and breakfast is good.
