"Off the beaten path"
The hotel staff was attentive and helpful in telling us about the local sites and places to eat. The room was clean, if just a little small. The bathroom was standard for Europe. The bed was two twins pushed together. The roof top lounge was a little disappointing in its comfort. The elevator cannot go to all the floors; you have to take two different elevators for some of the floors, i.e., the 4th.

"nice hotel for city touring"
hotel was very clean and tidy, staff came in everyday with new bed sheets and towels for the room. its also very close to the metro station which then gives you very easy acess to the whole of the city, a day pass on the metro is €6 per person which gives you unlimited travel for the whole day :) only complaint about the hotel is that we booked a double room, but they just pushed two single beds together which wasnt the comfiest but everything else was great! good breakfast, flat screen telly in the room and great power showers :) would definately recommend!

Aurora Garden Hotel

Via Emanuele Ciaceri, 12, Rome - Map

"A Lovely Aurora"
Aurora Gardens Hotel was located within a bus (343 - 344) and tube (Rebbibia to Termini) ride of Central Rome. The tube would actually take you to the Colosseum station if you stopped on but connections were often easy and there was no more waiting than 9 minutes. The bus's were frequent and went through the heart of Italian life. The tube and bus's were often full and it was a case of 'Everyone for themselves' to get on. There are no orderly cue's in Italy. It didn't all look like an Italy you may imagine but being away from the major 'Tourist' hotels gave you a better idea of life in 'Italy'. The locals were never un-friendly and never caused any reason to be concerned - Italians do tend to stare at you - but they do this to all and it can feel a little uncomfortable until you relise they meaning nothing by it. The Hotel reception area were very helpful in matters that you would approach them with. (Although they didn't tell us there was a transport strike on one of our days! oops). The reception areas were covered by people whom spoke English which was very refreshing as most Italians in Rome have not learnt the English. As one receptionist told me "Why would we know English, we are Italian?". (English is multi-national language, Rome lives on Tourism). The people at the hotel were very friendly and approachable, as were the other staff. Breakfast was self service and there was plenty until greedy other guests got there. Would I stay at this hotel again? Deffo. Yes I Would.

"Nice hotel allowing control of room temperature"
Out of the five hotels I stayed in Italy during the month of October, Hotel Fenix was the only one where I could actually control the temperature of my room. The bus stop is at the corner, one minute away from the hotel. You may board bus #90 (Express) and after about 14 minutes you are at Termini Station (Train and Metro). Very convenient. From Termini you board bus 90 and step down at the sixth stop (Nomentana/Gorizia) and the Hotel is just across the street at the corner. The breakfast was very good. The muffins (blueberry and chocolate) were excellent. At this hotel you may actually eat the bacon, which is cooked. At other hotels the bacon is always half-cooked. My only complaint is that the juices are all acid: grapefruit, orange, and pineapple. For those of us who cannot drink acid juices, there were no other choices. The staff were courteous and friendly. If I return to Rome, I would definitely stay at Hotel Fenix. I believe the rooms are sound proof, because one morning I stepped into the hall and I heard the TV from my neighboring room. Inside my room I heard no noise from my neighbor.

"Brilliant Hotel in the suburbs of Rome"
We recently stayed in the hotel for 8 nights & had a brilliant time. The hotel is in a quiet suberb of Rome, a very short walk from the bus stop (X90 from Termini) and the underground (Conca Dor'O). The instructions given by the hotel of how to get there from the bus route were perfect - minutes walk. The hotel is modern, good sized rooms, high ceilings, very large comfortable beds, crisp, white linen and very large soft white towels, very clean, staff are very friendly and helpful and brilliant breakfast included in the price. The area around the hotel has bars, shops restaurants, some on the way back from the tube and the others in the immediate vicinity. Recommend :- C1BO - Fashion /Burger/ Beer Bar, Montesacro, Viale Tirreno No 2, Roma Ilocal - just round the corner. Delicatessen round the corner with a cafe - brilliant evening meal - no menu - food kept coming - lots of fabulous italian tasters & wine. 3 Italian Restaurants on the main road back from the Tube All were local restaurants with very reasonably priced food & drink. All were surprised as we were the only English eating or drinking there but they were so friendly and accommodating.
