"Good Hotel, Good Location, Good Price"
The man who works at the front desk is very nice. Every evening he made some sort of joke about having spaghetti for breakfast the following morning. My girlfriend and I are in our early 20's and we were able to walk from the hotel to any part of Rome with ease. It is approximately 2 miles from the hotel to the Vatican but there is so much to see between the two points that you don't even notice. I would suggest taking at least two days to see all of the major attractions in Rome. In one day we went from the hotel to the Spanish Steps, Piazza del Popolo, the Vatican Museums, the Sistene Chapel, St. Peters Basilica, St. Peters Square, Castel Sant'Angelo, the Pantheon, and the Trevi Fountain. In the second day we did Santa Maria in Maggiore, the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, the Roman Forum, the Trojan Column and the Trevi Fountain again, but at night. If you had three days I would suggest making the Vatican Museums and St. Peters Basilica a whole day. IT IS DEFINITELY WORTH THE FIVE EURO TO WALK THE 551 STEPS TO THE TOP OF THE BASILICA. The view from the top is amazing, you can see out over all of Rome. Bathroom was cleaned daily. Breakfast was the same every day but good, and it allowed you to eat as much as you wanted so you would be set until late in the afternoon. Hotel is on the third floor of the building, he gives you a key to the street door in case you are out in the city until late like we were. Only thing that wasn't great was the beds, they are a little hard.

"Excellent European Boutique Hotel"
Albergo Ottocento is immaculate. It's on a small, quiet (for Rome) streeet. We overlooked the street but had no problem with noise. The front desk is available 24/7. Breakfast included eggs, cereal, fruit, rolls/cakes, cappuccino/coffee, and was very tasty. Service was good, particularly with arranging transportation to the airport. The rooms are small by American standards. For example, we had a deluxe room, which had no bureau. If you can get past that, it's an excellent little hotel.

"Excellent Hotel, Very Impressed!"
We stayed in a Junior Suite for four nights in April 2014. The hotel is in a nice part of town, it feels safe and tourist friendly. The staff were flawlessly polite, helpful and friendly. The booking and check in times were confirmed by the hotel staff in the week prior to arrival which was reassuring. The room was huge, spotlessly clean, and the balconies had great views over the neighbourhood. There is no restaurant at the hotel but there are literally a dozen within a few moments walk in any direction so that was not a problem. If breakfast is not included in your package I would suggest a stroll around the corner for a great selection cafes with good food and wonderful service for a fraction of the price.

This is a great boutique hotel, It is behind US embassy. Shops and restaurants are close by. Attractions need some walking but it is a nice experience walking. Staff was very pleasant. "Low key stylishness"
This hotel was the perfect place to stay for our three-night, two-day visit to Rome. The staff was extremely helpful in getting us oriented. We had failed to make advance reservations for the Borghese Villa but at the suggestion of the desk clerk, we tried at the end of the day and got in. Our room was quiet (as requested) and comfortable. There is no restaurant for meals other than breakfast but that did not matter as there were many eateries nearby. There is no room service but we appreciated the effort to provide coffee for us before our early departure.

Pocket Guide: Rome Via Veneto Independent Hotels

Made famous by 'La Dolce Vita' film in 1960, the Via Veneto is going through a glamorous renaissance. Bars, restaurants, chic hotels and boutiques all vie for attention in the street which coined the expression 'paparazzo' – the surname of the photojournalist in the film. Nearby, the Spanish Steps are the place for lovers' trysts, shopping, and honing the Italian art of 'dolce far niente' – idling and people-watching.
