"Super clean, super comfy and super friendly"
We stayed at the Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese for four nights in June 2014. Upon arrival, we were quickly and very politely greeted by hotel staff. The doorman took our bags for us immediately, and the overall check-in process was fast and smooth. The room was very comfortable and clean, and the housekeeping staff checked on us daily to ask if everything was up to par. Our room overlooked Via Lombardia but it is a very quiet street so there was no noise to complain of. The hotel itself was also very quiet so no trouble sleeping at night. Breakfast was not included in our package but much to our pleasant surprise, there was a table set up outside the breakfast dining room with a complimentary "breakfast on the go" -- fresh croissants and fruit, along with little to-go bags -- which we took advantage of each day. The location of the hotel is in a very nice area of Rome. It is just a short block or two off of Via Veneto and only about a 5 or 10 minute walk to the Spanish Steps. It is also about a 5-minute walk from Villa Borghese.

"Visit to Rome"
Stayed Three nights with my wife and another couple. We booked two double rooms , which were ready for us on our arrival two hours prior to the official time. Everything about our stay was first class . The rooms were excellent ,even though they were the cheapest on offer , and fully lived up to our expectations. Clean, tidy, quiet and certainly spacious enough for us. The staff could not be more helpful and in particular the reception and concierge staff who went out their way to ensure we had everything we needed with regard to restaurants , sightseeing taxis etc. One staff member ,Alessia, was so good we have to mention her , booking our tickets for the Vatican museum on-line and saving us a two hour wait in line for them . One tip for both Vatican and Collosseum , take a guide. We took ones from outside the venues and in both cases they were invaluable . I think it cost 20 euros each and was well worth it in terms of accessability and knowledge.

It's about 15 min walking distance from the subway station. It's expensive for staying there. Good breakfast. Free wifi was good.

Staff we're brilliant particularly the staff at the door always ready to greet you with a smile and a ready umbrella ! Breakfast was good with plenty of choice and the snack and Restuarant menu was also good. Would highly recommend this hotel. Thank you for a lovely stay.

"Perfect in every way."
Friendly staff at every turn, beautiful throughout and very clean. Formal when appropriate ( in the restaurant) but more relaxed elsewhere. Location could not be better. We walked for less than 3 minutes and were at the top of the Spanish steps. The air con in the room was silent which was such a pleasant change as you could leave it on overnight.

"Lovely Hotel in a convienient location"
The Hotel was fantastic, the setting was excellent and the street that it was in was very attractive. Upon entering the lobby you are greeted with a lovely open space with tall ceilings and a friendly greeting by the concierge who is more than keen to help. The Staff at the desk were exceptionally friendly and spoke very good English. The Room that we had was fantastic on the 5th Floor with the biggest balcony terrace with lovely views accross the rooftops. The Room itself was very clean and had all the mod cons that you would ever need and great choice of toiletries in the bathroom. The location was ideal within 5 minutes of the Bambarini plaza and a 10-15 minute stroll to the Trevi fountain.Would definately want to go back to this Hotel and would definately recommend it for someone looking for a luxury hotel to stay at.

"Pampering choice in the heart of Rome"
Beautifully decorated and welcoming. Room was bigger than anticipated and well designed to optimize use. Other than some 'hiccups' we had with flushing water in the toilets, it was one of the best rooms if not the best I stained in in Europe. Breakfast was good and diversified. All dishes were well crafted. Hotel staff was welcoming, friendly and extremely efficient with anything we needed. If I'm back to Rome, that's where I'd like to stay.

Where to stay in Via Veneto:

Pocket Guide: Via Veneto, Rome Luxury Hotels

Made famous by 'La Dolce Vita' film in 1960, the Via Veneto is going through a glamorous renaissance. Bars, restaurants, chic hotels and boutiques all vie for attention in the street which coined the expression 'paparazzo' – the surname of the photojournalist in the film. Nearby, the Spanish Steps are the place for lovers' trysts, shopping, and honing the Italian art of 'dolce far niente' – idling and people-watching.
