"Upgraded to Queen Victoria actually :-)"
I recall writing in a previous review that I was unlikely ever to try the Newmark Hotels group's 5-star properties because the Victoria & Alfred suits me so well. I wonder if a little Newmark bird was listening and prompted the upgrade to tempt me! So this is mainly, in fact, a review of the Queen Victoria, which I hope is acceptable under the circumstances. Well, I must therefore say (if my theory is correct) that Newmark proved their point. The Queen Victoria does have a more tranquil "five star vibe" to it, with its location uphill (a 5 minute stroll and there are ramps for the less fit as an alternative to stairs) and its much larger public spaces. The views of Table Mountain are different, with some commercial clutter in the foreground, but the more elevated situation of the bar balcony does have its own charm. The Dash restaurant is very hard to book, but - a very signficant plus here - you can get all the same superb dishes sitting at the classy bar. I won't be foresaking the Victoria & Alfred, but when funds and room rates permit, I will mix in a proportion of stays at the Queen Victoria. I still took lunch most days in Oyo at the Victoria & Alfred, which makes for a great combination. However, much as I like Oyo, the cuisine at Dash is superb and not much more expensive.

"Wonderful Hotel, Best Location"
Cape Town was the highlight of our vacation to South Africa, and our stay at Table Bay Hotel was icing on the cake! The individualized service was amazing. No detail was overlooked. The location is supreme; right on the ocean with excellent views of Robben Island, at the foot of Table Mountain and Signal Hill, and steps away from the V&A Waterfront with countless fine restaurants and shopping opportunities. The daily breakfast buffet should not be missed. And, my wife loved the spa! All very affordable, very safe, and extremely welcoming and comfortable. Highly recommended!

"This hotel is pure class."
I could not have been happier with my stay. The staff could not have been more helpful and always had a ready smile. The only event which slightly marred my stay was the owner of the hotel turning up with his extended family and taking over the pool area with his grandchildren on my last day. Such a shame that he sees the hotel as a playground at the expense of his guests!

"FANTASTIC"
This is not the most luxurious hotel you will find, but it is arguably the most luxurious in Cape Town. What it lacks in chic, it makes up for in grace. The hotel staff could not be more helpful, friendly, and sincere while completely discrete. Always ready to help without being intrusive. Service is genuinely excellent. I will definitely return. Cape Town is very relaxed, the hotel reflects this, but this makes it really relaxing. There's a really excellent High Tea, which is very popular and the sashimi at Nobu is a culinary art for the tastebuds.

"Comfortable hotel close to the V&A Waterfront"
We stayed for 4 nights in this very clean, comfortable and convenient hotel. A delicious full or continental breakfast, as well as lunch and dinner are available at the onsite Stonebreakers. Hotel staff are extremely helpful with information about Cape Town and for booking tours etc. The hotel which has a history as a gaol and houses the School of Business, is less than 2 minutes walk to the popular V&A waterfront and only 30 mins walk to the centre of Cape Town. The hop-on, hop-off red bus leaves from the waterfront ensuring easy access to most tourist locations.

"A great place to stay in Cape Town"
I was very impressed by this place. It was modern, clean and very comfortable. The location was great; right on the V&A Waterfront but in a quiet spot. Also felt very secure and safe. The staff were the best part about this place. They were so helpful and friendly. We were originally going to stay in a hotel but I am glad we chose a self contained apartment because it was nice having the extra space, washing machine and a kitchen so that we could make our own breakfast in the morning.

"Convenient Location, reasonable price"
Hotel is located in a convenient and safe spot. Staff were friendly and very helpful. The customer service at the concierge desk was very instrumental in giving recommendation and booking reservations for restaurants and attractions. If you drive, we highly recommend using the hotel's parking for a daily fee as there are no nearby free parking. The breakfast buffet was included in the room rate, and it had great selections. Although we brought along a universal adaptor to charge our laptop and iPad, our adaptor could not fit into the South African outlet, we ended up asking the front desk for a loaner adaptor. The only limitation was that they did not have enough loaner available. If you have half-day between the check out time and your departure flight, we highly recommend that you put your luggage at the Bell desk, do whatever you like in town, return to the hotel and use their Spa service and take a relaxing shower prior to heading for the airport, the expense at the Spa is much less expensive than paying additional fee for late check out. All in all, it is a great hotel. We will definitely return when we visit Cape Town again.
