Poor experience on checkout. We had a small balance of US$70 to pay. When they tried to collect it fist on my UK MasterCard and then my son's UK Visa, both were "rejected" by the machine connected to First Capital Bank. They asked us to pay cash, which we didn't want to. So, they tried again after 15 mins. Same result - they said this was probably a network problem within Zimbabwe. They insisted that we had to pay cash and we said we couldn't but would leave a written authority to collect manually when their network was working again. They said this wasn't possible as that needed to be arranged in advance prior to check-in. When our taxi arrived the recptionist mysteriously found another machine - this one connected to Stanbic and the payment was instantly approved. Apparently this is a commonly used trick within Zimbabwe, but we would expect a group like Cresta to be more honest. Also, the breakfast at $18 was very poor in quality and value.
