“Lovely Accomodations”

We gave a weekend at this lovely spot to a special couple in our family who was celebrating an anniversary. They had a wonderful time. Very close to most of the city's attractions and dining. Staff was happy to make dining recommendations and reservations. Delicious breakfast. Beautiful room.

“A Wonderful Honeymoon...”

We arrived shortly after midnight on a cold November morn. When we were led to our room by Mary, our concierge, we were struck by the elegant and understated decor. There were cookies and a handwritten note awaiting us by a fireplace. The marble bathroom housed a jacuzzi, and there were two luxurious robes hanging by the door. In the mornings, we were greeted with coffee in the library prior to our gourmet breakfast in the warm dining room. Each morning of our 3-day stay, there was a different choice of sweet or savory main dish (ie: pumpkin-cinnamon buttermilk pancakes or roasted red pepper-havarti cheese omelet) with a choice of juices and treats from the bread basket (ie: sundried tomato and cheese scones or pear and hazelnut coffee cake). The hotel was within walking distance of the downtown area and the Inner Harbor. There was only one thing missing from our room--a television; however, this allowed us to reminisce by the fireplace. The service was outstanding, and we were helped or pampered at every turn. It was a memorable trip for so many reasons, and we highly recommend Abigail's to any couple seeking a warm, relaxed atmosphere to enjoy each other's company in a beautiful city!

“Four poster fun!”

We have traveled to Victoria many times but this was our first stay at Abigail's. It is located a little outside the main area which wasn't a problem for us as we love to walk. The neighborhood was much quieter and that made for better sleeping in as well. We stayed on the top floor of the main house, no elevator for those of you who don't like stairs, in a wonderful room with vaulted ceilings, a fire place and a four poster king bed with steps to climb in. It felt very luxurious and all the windows opened something very important to me. The staff focus is on service and they were very helpful, making reservations and following up afterward to make sure we enjoyed our meals. We didn't have a breakfast as we tend to save ourselves for dinner but the smells wafting in our window were delicious and the hors d'oeurves served in the evening were very good. If I had one wish it would be that they provide a car to return us to the ferry. We travel without a one and it would be great if someone could just run us down to the terminal. Another way I thought of was if Abigail's worked with a taxi company, calling and prepaying the driver to take us. They offer free parking if you do bring your car which is a great service so I was trying to think of a way to help those of us who don't bring a car onto the island. Maybe working with the ferry companies and BC tourism to promote keeping Victoria green and traffic low. Just a thought and not a reflection on the service offered.

“Wonderful Bed and Breakfast”

Wonderful bed and breakfast hotel within walking distance of downtown. It was nice to be away from the tourist crush of the downtown area. The staff was very friendly. They had very good appetizers in the afternoon and you could purchase a nice glass of wine to go with them which I appreciated.
