Nice hotel, convenient location to inner harbour

Posted Oct 19, 2014
Cons: Complimentary breakfast was OK. Kind of mediocre. Wouldn't consider that a strong reason to stay there.
We were very impressed with the quality of the Best Western Plus. would definitely stay there again, Room we had was very quiet, clean, and had a small kitchenette with stove, fridge, microwave sink, with dishes, and table plus 2 chairs. Very pleasant surprise! Underground parking for vehicles. Walking distance to downtown Victoria, Inner Harbour, Parliament Bldgs, and several really good restaurants.

Perfect for a short stay in Victoria

Posted Sep 10, 2014
Stayed here for a night while we went on a Lil mini vacay. Loved almost everything about this hotel. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and probably the nicest staff I've ever dealt with when it comes to hotels. Didn't have any special needs but just their manner of speaking with their customers was very refreshing. Rooms were very clean and spacious for just a standard 2 queen bedroom. Cute mini kitchen was helpful and also enjoyed the private balcony. Great location as its close to pretty much all the top downtown Victoria tourist attraction. The only letdowns were having to pay an extra $30 for taxes at check in which for some reason wasnt included in the initial reservation, too dark in the room, and pillows were quite uncomfortable. Other than that, had a very pleasant stay and will definitely return during our next trip to Victoria, will just bring my own pillows this time...

Excellent Inner Harbour location!

Posted Aug 2, 2014
This hotel was a wonderful surprise. This premium location was just steps from the Inner Harbour - even Starbuck's:) Extremely friendly and helpful staff created a very pleasant atmosphere. Our room was spacious and well appointed, including a kitchen and large balcony. We were even able to store our bikes on the balcony. We had a lovely view to the harbour and small park below,. Wifi and a FULL breakfast are included. The breakfast was amazing, with omelettes, sausages, assorted scones and crumpets, cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit - even pancakes! We loved this hotel and will definitely be returning.

Convenient downtown Victoria hotel

Posted Jul 20, 2014
Cons: Balcony sliding door needs replacing - very stiff & noisy to open/close. Included breakfast reasonable value but far too many high fat/carb items.
An overall good experience at this pretty typical Best Western hotel. Very friendly & helpful front desk staff. Did not use the pool or gym but they looked well kept. Convenient location. Very quiet, clean room on 7th floor. Included moderate speed WIFI worked well.

For the price very disappointing.

Pros: There were good things but not the things that mattered.
Cons: The staff could try to give the impression that they cared about their guests.
Location: Available near by are lots of things, including much better hotels.
This is not a cheap hotel, I have stayed in modern clean hotels that are half the price of this one (and dirty ones at a third of the price), so I was expecting a certain level of service that was completely lacking. The staff looked bored, never saying "Hello" when I walked passed the desk, the only eye contact they gave was a cursory glance to check we were guests, but no smiles or even interest. Indeed I walked by the entrance staff three times in about ten minutes and can tell you what they were talking about, but they never paused to say "Good morning". This is not good enough in this price range. Basically, it wasn't that they were nasty, it was that they weren't trying. The room was pleasant if a bit tight on space, but the real problem was that the windows did not stop any noise, so I heard every sea-plane taking off in the harbour during the day and every car (and drunk) who passed along the front at night. Again, this experience did not match the price tag. The promised parking can't take bigger vehicles so I was told I would have to pay for parking off site. I was the first down for breakfast, and while it looked good the hot food was barely warm and it tasted like what it was: a "free breakfast". I only stayed in this hotel because the people I was meeting were staying there (and they only chose it because their 'points' took them there). There are lots of very good hotels in downtown Victoria at a similar price, so I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere.
