Wonderful stay!

Posted Oct 7, 2014
Pros: Quiet, nice view, great food, great service, clean, patio, comfortable bed, spa tub/bathroom, peaceful, I feel like they thought of everything.
Cons: Get another bike so a couple can ride together.
Location: Butchart Gardens, kayaking
Just returned from 4 night stay and it was absolutely perfect. Excellent service from all staff members, and amazing food at the restaurant and pub (especially breakfast!!) The room was one of the best Ive stayed in. I feel like they thought of everything (such as hooks by the door for coats, umbrellas in closet, robes, pool shoes, heated bathroom floor, good pillows, warm blanket at end of bed.) The spa tub was incredible, and you could look out at the view while in the tub - there were shutters out to the room, so anytime you were in the bathroom you could see out, just made the room feel more spacious. Fireplace & chairs were a nice place to sit and read. Patio is a wonderful spot for watching the sunsets. Coffee maker and tea kettle in room, small fridge mini bar. Fairly quiet, although not totally silent since the ferry comes & goes, and the restaurant patio is nearby, and other guest patios nextdoor (but at least there are frosted glass partitions.) A staff member was nice enough to offer me a bike to use, which I rode to Butchart Gardens (I think there was only 1 bike.) Bus stops by hotel, so that's a great way to get around (I rode it to Victoria for only 2.50!) Free calls from your room to U.S.!! And Wi-Fi is free and works well all over grounds. There's not a lot to do within walking distance of hotel, so know this is a good place for a quiet solo retreat or romantic getaway. If night clubbing is for you, this may not be the place. I will return!!

Quiet, secluded location.

Location: Nice to have the eco-adventure tours right there and the close proximity to the Buchart Gardens was great!
We enjoyed our stay immensely. A very well appointed and comfortable place with excellent staff and services. We will definitely return!

Over priced and disappointing view

Posted Sep 20, 2014
Pros: Bathroom with jacuzzi
Cons: Trim some trees
Location: Butchart Garden
We reserved deluxe ocean view suite, but our room was on the ground floor and right in front of the swimming pool near the restaurant. Our main view was pool and lounge chairs and we only could see a little bit of water between overgrown trees. Actually we asked for a room on the second floor or third floor at the check in, but they said they were sold out that night so we knew we had no choice. We have stayed so many ocean or harbor view rooms in Victoria or other cities, but this room was the worst view room so far. If they want to charge that room for a ocean view, they really need to trim chose trees to improve the view. However, restaurant was very tasty and the room itself was nice with a big jacuzzi tub and seperate shower, but we probably won't choose this hotel for our next trip to Victoria.

Beautiful location

We had a lovely stay at the Brentwood bay resort. Rooms are impeccable with unreal views of the bay. Beautiful robes and flip flops make it easy to enjoy the outdoor pool & hottub. Having direct access to the Marina was a plus. We rented paddle boards and saw tons of jelly fish, crabs and starfish. The restaurants on site were awesome too! Lots of nice touches, including heated floors in the bathroom. Would definitely return!

Nice Hotel With Easy Butchart Access

Posted Aug 31, 2014
Pros: For a fee, it provided a boat ride to and from Butchart Gardens, so we could avoid crowds. Their Brentwood Bay Hash is best breakfast I've ever had.
Cons: Provide double or even triple-ply toilet paper -- the single-ply stuff is for the Motel 6's of the world.
Location: Not much to do, especially if you don't have a car. It's quite a long walk to any grocery or drug store.
Probably the nicest BC Island hotels outside of some of the more posh ones in Victoria. Got into room as soon as we arrived, which was around 1 p.m. Asked for an upper-floor room and we received one. Ate only breakfast at hotel, but it was amazing both times. Staff is very attentive and helpful. Room is very nice and view is gorgeous. Spa bathtub was pretty worthless, as when you sat in it, the jets shot up your back and water spilled out of the tub. (Yes, I was sitting at the right end.) Electric fireplace was nice but it was summer and it was hot. Air conditioner was more important and it worked well. Didn't try the pool as it looked a little murky. There is a spa at the hotel, but we are not spa people, so can't comment on that. A couple of restaurants and gift/antique shops in the immediate neighborhood, but that's about it. Not much beach-combing as there was a plankton bloom and the water was, well, yucky. Reason we booked here was for the easy access to Butchart Gardens without taking a bus from Victoria. It proved to be true, for as the mob was making its way to the parking lot and its one exit after the Saturday night fireworks show, we calmly strolled to the garden's back exit through the Japanese Garden, waited 10 minutes for our boat to arrive and it took another 10 minutes to get back to the hotel. $35 round-trip for each person, but well worth it if you hate crowds as much as we do.

Impeccable!

I have never stayed anywhere more beautiful or comfortable, and the staff, from waitresses to housekeeping to the front desk, were exceptionally warm, welcoming, and helpful. I would give you all 6+ if I could!
