Good value for money

Posted Oct 8, 2014
We stayed for 6 nights and like to provide our own breakfasts and snacks, so it was a little disappointing that there was no refrigerator in the room. However when we mentioned this, they very kindly and promptly provided one. Like the rest of the decor it was a bit dated but served the purpose very well. Similarly there was only 1 teabag each provided per day which, considering they were very generous with shampoo, seemed rather odd! I will only wash my hair once a day, but I certainly want more than one cup of tea per day! (there was plenty of coffee). I'm sure had I asked they would have most obliging, but as it turned out we found some extras. Some laundry facilities for guests to use would have been nice. Having said all that the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was spotless and the shower was great! The staff were friendly and helpful and the location is great.

Bed bugs

Posted Oct 1, 2014
Pros: Close to downtown and harbor
Cons: Ventilation
Location: Lots of sightseeing and activities
Room was ok, hard to control the temperature on the west side, moved to the east side better view and cooler. The room has bed bugs, though I was the only one on our group to get any bites I am sure that is where I got them.

4 night stay

Posted Sep 30, 2014
Cons: Two negatives we had: The restaurant was now owned by the hotel, Also, because we were there for 4 nights - we really needed a fridge. Disappointed.
Generally: Older hotel, could do with some updating, but overall it was fine for us.

Nice hotel close to waterfront.

Posted Sep 30, 2014
Pros: Location, cleanliness,, staff. Pool table in the bar.
Cons: Pillows!! Those big, puffy, overstuffed pillows are killers. Soundproofing - every sound in the corridor was audible, and there was quite a lot.
Close to all attractions. Attractive location. Great views from the front rooms.

Room was like a sauna

Posted Sep 26, 2014
Pros: Location is good.
Cons: Hotel needs a full renovation complete with installation of air-conditioning.
Location: Close to the Inner Harbour and shopping.
The "Queen" size bed was the smallest Queen size my wife and I have ever seen. The room was like a sauna!!! Rm. # 215. We are returning clients but this was not at all a happy stay. Most likely won't stay here again...

Inexpensive hotel on the harbor

Posted Sep 22, 2014
Pros: The pool, restaurant, cleanliness, pub.
Cons: Discreet outside music speakers. Does not need to be so loud outside of the pub.
Location: It is Victoria. There is TONS to do. All within easy walking distance. And the hotel is across the street from the Port Angeles ferry.
This os a fine hotel if you are on a budget and do not mind a little noise. Rooms are clean, staff is great, pool is warm (80F), restaurant is good. The only problem is - it is a bit noisy. The hotel pub has outdoor music speakers that go well into the late evening, and the wall are a bit thin. If you are into a party mood and do not want to spend a fortune - this is the place to stay.

Nice Hotel Facing the Harbor

Posted Sep 22, 2014
Pros: Location.
Cons: Air conditioning and double paned windows.
Location: Downtown Victoria by the ferries: Harbor, shopping, BC Museum, whale watching, Butchart Gardens, China Town, and more.
This is a typical Days Inn. The location is beautiful but a little noisy because of the harbor. The staff was helpful and the room clean.

Best location and view.

Posted Sep 21, 2014
Pros: The location and staff
Cons: Need a better mattress
Location: The beautiful BC Parliament Building is a block away. And the famous Empess Hotel is around the corner. Seaplanes and ferries in the bay below.
Staff was superb. Location the best: overlooking the harbor, could walk to most everything, deck faced tourist sites. Parking lot free and we could come and go without having to use valet. Room was small but clean. The mattress was less than comfortable. Had to go to the lobby for ice. Yet I would definitely book there again. Couldn't imagine doing better for the cost.

untidy environment.

Posted Sep 12, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Staff training required for front desk and house keeping.
Location: Convenient location, lots of sight seeing.
As soon as we entered to the hotel, feel like entering fish store. Because pool is next to front desk and it wasn't clean enough to eliminate smell. Same thing with room.
