Smelly bath curtains.

Posted Sep 2, 2014
Pros: Ice cold water in the lobby was very welcoming and nice.
Cons: Air conditioning would have helped enormously
Location: Very close to all the major attractions by the Victoria harbor.
The shower curtains smelled like dirty dish cloths. I asked housekeeping to change them and they did so and then the bathroom smelled fine. There is no air conditioning and so we slept with the windows open which was fine except that at about 4:30AM you were awaken by seagulls cawing loudly. I would not recommend this hotel to friends.

I'm very glad that we were able to quickly replace the shower curtain for you and apologize for the noisy seagulls. Perhaps a return visit in the Fall/Winter when the temperate climate of Victoria is very comfortable? Sincerely, Kay Koot, general manager

Convenient and comfortable hotel

Posted Sep 1, 2014
Pros: Pleasant staff. Good food at restaurant. Clean, comfortable room.
Cons: Some room furniture staring to show it's age.
Location: Victoria is a fun city--interesting history, waterfront, food and shopping.
Convenient location--walking distance to ferry and local attractions. Has indoor pool and Jacuzzi which I used--water was pleasant in the pool.

Thank you John for choosing to stay with, taking advantage of our pool and hot tub and of course for your 4-star review. Tacoma is a fairly easy hop, skip and jump to Victoria ... hoping to welcome your back soon. Sincerely, Kay Koot, general manager

Conveniently located downtown Victoria.

Posted Aug 31, 2014
We needed a room just for one night. This hotel was very convenient for us because it was reasonably priced and it was right downtown Victoria. . It was a nice experience for us.

Needs update

Posted Aug 29, 2014
Pros: Courtney at front desk.
Cons: Update rooms and share the fact that they have a shuttle service!
Location: Location was very good!
The staff was very friendly and the hotel location and lobby were welcoming. The rooms need updating! It also should be clear that there is no air condition and the sliding door is your mode for cooling.

Thanks Luanne, from our very friendly staff and for highlighting that. I take this opportunity to state that the rooms do have ceiling fans which also do a good job in circulating air, especially the cool evening air once the sun begins to set. Sincerely, Kay Koot, general manager

Close to the Inner Harbour

Posted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: Location - and the restaurant was very good and the waiters attentive.
Cons: Management needs to pay attention to the little things as mentioned above.
Location: Excellent location for things in the inner harbor and walking around the downtown area and waterfront. BC Museum a must.
The Hotel was close to the inner harbor and made it easy to walk to everything of interest. which is a good thing because driving in that area can be a bit challenging with all the tourists in the summer. close to foot and car ferries from Washington, the Royal BC Museum, transit to Buchart Gardens, shops and walking on the waterfront - everything we were interested in doing this trip. It is an older hotel that has been updated a bit in the past - clean and okay - I liked the ceiling fan which helped move the air - quietly - as opposed to those awful air conditioners most motels have. Management needs to pay attention to the little things that suggest it is not quite as good as it could be - the desk lamp was loose on it's base, the towel bar was partly pulled away from the wall on one side, as if someone had used it for a grab bar, and the bathtub drain was clogged and did not drain - small things that could be taken care of and reported by an observant housekeeper or occasional walk through by management rather than waiting for a guest to report it.

We appreciate your positive comments and apologize for those items you mentioned, which should absolutely be noticed first by our Room Attendants and then reported to Maintenance. I actually do a complete inspection of 5 rooms each week with my Chief Engineer and Housekeeping Manager and these are the kinds of things which may have been overlooked by our hard-working Room Attendants. I'm happy to advise that we expect new desk lamps to be delivered in the Fall. Hoping you will return to check them out. Sincerely, Kay Koot, general manager

Wonderful place to stay

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Would highly recommend Harbor Towers Hotel. We were there for five nights and can't think of one complaint. We had a one bedroom suite which was more like an apartment, large and roomy with lots of windows. Suite included a buffet breakfast which was excellent. Will certainly stay here again. Roberta

On behalf of my Team, thank you Roberta for the 5 stars and your high recommendation. I often describe our 1-Bedroom King Suite as bigger than many people's apartments! (at 700 sq.ft. certainly larger than the apartment I lived in NYC). Chef Setso and his team will be happy to read that you also enjoyed the Full Hot Breakfast Buffet, included when reserving any of our Suites. Best regards, Kay Koot, general manager

The hallways are air conditioned but no.t the rooms! uncomfortable to sleep

Sorry that your stay coincided with a bit of a heat wave in Victoria, where usually the temperate climate is such that the ceiling fan and ability to open the balcony door/window, along with how much it cools down at night, are sufficient to provide air circulation and cooling. Hope you'll return in the fall/winter, sincerely, Kay Koot, general manager
