Wish I stayed elsewherePosted Mar 10, 2014
Pros: The lobby was really nice... and we anticipated our room to hold to the same standards, but it did not.
Cons: Sofa bed needs replacement More dusting Carpet desperately needs to be cleaned
Location: Lots of things to do around the area. Ogden Point Breakwater just walking distance away. Easy to get around via car, good central location.
My family and I stayed in a suite, and upon entry of the room, we were all disappointed with what we saw. Perhaps the room was not occupied for a long time, as a veil of dust covered the furniture and the sunbeam did not help its case. The room could have benefited greatly with a little TLC (cobwebs on corners of ceiling, grimy stove) and we were afraid to take off our shoes for the green carpet looked like it was hiding something in it (make up stains from previous room users did not help). The sofa bed was awful... there was a valley in the middle of it (a huge sign that mattress needs replacing). Hot water did not reach the shower until roughly 10 minutes (called front desk about this and they said this was the norm), and when it finally came, it lasted only for 5 minutes. Customer service was satisfactory. Nothing to complain about, but nothing worth noting either.

Great location for a wintery short breakPosted Mar 6, 2014
Pros: We were able to do laundry - coin operated $2 each for wash and dry. Safety deposit box at reception at no charge and fast wifi.
Cons: Didn't use the spa facilities so can't comment but there were notices about the pool being resurfaced starting this week (think it was 6th March 2014)
Location: It is located in downtown Victoria just by the inner harbour so all of the touristy things in that location (e.g. BC Museum, Whale watching) are near.
We were only in Victoria for 5 days visiting friends and doing a bit of touristy sight-seeing. There were no problems with the booking, we were expected and the room was clean and tidy. The location was good as it was only a couple of streets away from downtown and there were plenty of restaurants within walking distance (well our walking distance anyway). We didn't eat a full meal in Vic's (the attached restaurant) but the snacks, drinks and service we got in there was pretty good, but a bit on the pricey side - fairly normal in hotel restaurants. Got a great price because it was in the off season. I suspect it gets expensive during the summer and a lot busier.

Thank you so much for your 4-Star Review and all your comments., especially those related to the service in Vic's restaurant and the clean and tidy guestroom. Yes, our pool and hot tub are being re-surfaced as of March 6th and the anticipated completion date is April 11th, at the latest. . We have made arrangements for our guests to use the pool facilities at a partner hotel just down the street. This is our low season, but we pride ourselves on our value during the Peak Summer Season as well. hope to see you again, Kay Koot, general manager

Older hotel but well kept with excellent staff.Posted Mar 5, 2014
Pros: Pretty well everything :-)
Location: It's a block off the water and walking distance to the Parliament Buildings, the Museum & Curatorial Building, the Inner Harbour, and restaurants.
Our trip to Victoria was, unfortunately, to deal with a death in the family. The staff at the hotel was very gracious, the food and service were excellent, and the room very comfortable. Because of details that needed to be cleared up, we needed to extend our stay an extra night. This was accomplished with absolutely no hassle, plus we got to keep our same room and the rate for the added night actually went down. We will definitely be returning to the Harbour Towers Hotel in the future.

Nice Hotel Downtown Victoria!Posted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: Very accessible to everything in downtown Victoria!
Cons: We went for breakfast and the buffet had a good selection but the food was cold which wasn't acceptable! It ruined the morning for us!
It Varied! The room and location was great! Parking was tight! Food was cold at the Buffet! Events were close by, museum, IMAX, Robert Bateman exhibit etc. which were all in walking distance.

Hotel close to amenitiesPosted Mar 3, 2014
The customer service was not that great, the front desk person was rude and not friendly at all.

oh dear! I am so sorry, and very surprised, as our front office team has consistently received the highest Guest Satisfaction scores as well as by far the largest number of guest comments on how super friendly, efficient, courteous and professional they are! I hope you'll give them a chance to redeem their reputation, in your eyes. Sincerely, Kay Koot, general manager

Family DayPosted Feb 10, 2014
Pros: Hybrid parking! I was right by the elevators and not squeezed like the gas guzzlers.
Cons: As noted above, rollaway bed slow to arrive and expensive.
Location: Royal BC museum and IMax.
Hotel staff was courteous and efficient. The standard room was what was expected, not spacious, but not Lilliputian. Dinner at Vic's steakhouse was very good. The breakfast buffet was very good, and the 2 10-year-olds were over the moon at having as many smoothies and as much bacon as they wanted. Swimming pool clean, and gym well equipped. My only quibble is that it required two calls to get a rollaway bed, and it was overpriced at $25+tax. I would stay again. Centrally located, comfortable, and reasonably priced.

cold roomPosted Feb 7, 2014
Pros: staff I very nice to deal with
Cons: general up grade although the hotel is very clean.
Location: very good location on the harbor in downtown Victoria
Never stay here when it's cold as We had to get an extra heater to keep the frost away. The view is great (extra cost) however the drapes had to be closed to keep the heat in so no view as the old single pain windows are still there. The blurry TV was from the ninety's and we had to use a spacer in front of the cabinet so the doors would stay open. They charge the same rates a newer hotels in the Victoria water front with just as good views
