Hotel was nice

Room and Hotel was nice..... restaurant was wonderful for dinner but not good for breakfast and not worth the cost at all

Old TV

Pros: Good location and great view.
Cons: Update tv.
Location: No need for car if you enjoy walking the harbour and downtown etc. We just stayed for one night. We left our car parked until checkout.
A bit of a shocker that with the low prices of TV's these days that we had an old 25 inch set in the room. That was a surprise. Every other hotel I have been in in the last 5 years has had a flat screen. The beds were super comfortable and everything else was great. They also have real Coffeemate for the morning coffee.

Well I'm very happy to advise you that although I do not consider $800 a low price when speaking of 185 televisions, we expect to have our standard 42" flatscreen HD televisions installed in all guestrooms by May 1st. . Come back after that and check them out. Also happy that you found the beds to be super comfortable. Sincerely, Kay Koot, general manager

Great stay. close to everything. Booked for 4 days instead of 1 as it was so comfortable. great restaurants closeby.

Close to things

Cons: Better communication about offered services.
Was looking for a hotel to stay at during a brief, quick trip to Victoria. Found this hotel on Expedia. The only thing I was really looking for was a hotel with a pool and breakfast. According to the entry this hotel had both. Once we got there we discovered the pool was closed. And had been closed for some time. While we eventually discouvered that the hotel had set up an alternative, this information had to be pulled out of the hotel staff and should have been on the website. Additionally, I spent forever trying to find the difference between a suite and a regular room, beyond the price. I found nothing. However upon getting to the hotel we discouvered the difference: the inclusion of breakfast. Had I known this I would have picked the room with the included breakfast. Lastly, I had to pay for parking, which was a surprise and an inconvenience. When I was informed of the price I assumed it was the price for both nights of my stay. When I received my bill upon checkout I found this not to be the case. The price I was quoted as per-night. I was also not given the option of only selecting one night of my stay.

Oh dear! I am very sorry to read that somehow the timing of our pool resurfacing project and your reservation were out of sync. We received about one week's notice and made the effort to have this posted on our own website and the other 3rd party distribution channels as quickly as possible. Additionally, there are other differences between our Suites and the Standard rooms: kitchenette, 2 televisions, more spacious being the most obvious. I do hope that you might give us another chance on a return visit, especially to check out the pool and hot tub. sincerely, Kay Koot, general manager

Nice view, comfortable bed

Location: Great location, close to walk to restaurants, shops, museum and the list goes on. Too bad it wasn't a bit nicer.
It was fine for one night, bed was good, could have been cleaner, baseboards, under bed. Would come again.

Room wasn't fancy but had everything we needed, location is great, staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast buffet was good, wafflemaker was fun for the little guy.

Great for a family.

Pros: Great for family. Buffet breakfast was fabulous. Very quiet.
Cons: Updated appliances and mattresses. Carpets need to be replaced.
Location: Location was FABULOUS! A block from the waterfront and walking distance to much of what Victoria has to offer.
We had a 2 bedroom suite for 5 of us. Plenty of room and well equipped with 1 and half baths. The mattress in the main room was fairly damaged on one side, but it did okay for a few days. A dirty washcloth was left by the cleaning staff when we checked in and some of the dishes were dirty in the cupboard. Also, the elements on the stove were broken, which ruined our first dinner there. All of these issues were brought up to the hotel staff and were addressed right away. We were offered compensation as well. Overall a great hotel. Many people have mentioned "modernization", such as flat screen t.v.. That is not something I even noticed. The hotel is not run down at all, but definitely some better maintenance is necessary (i.e. stove).

I'm glad to read that my team did react properly when something that should not have been reported by a guest was noticed and reported. Our 2-bedroom suites are often deemed perfect for families. Great location needs upgrade

Believe it or not room had a 20 yr old tv a cracked coffee mug the mattress sloped to the middle and the furniture needs replacing .Also both pool and hot tub were closed they offers access to a hotel down the street but that's not much good if you want a hot tub before bed.

So sorry that your visit coincided with the resurfacing of our pool and hot tub, and I understand that although only 1 block away having to step outside was not at all ideal. I hope you might try us again any time beginning in May, when the hot tub and sauna will be fully back in operation and the installation of the 42" flatscreen HD television set in all rooms should be complete. sincerely, Kay Koot, general manager

A perfectly respectable hotel in a good location. The pool was closed for renovations but they had arranged for us to use a very nice club pool nearby, and my kids were thrilled.

Comfortable hotel in excellent location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Excellent service, staff, the price was right. The only constructive criticism I have is that the hotel could use some updating. But everything else was wonderful and we felt right at home. Also a perfect location, close to everything, yet quiet.
