Great place for visiting Victoria.

Posted Jun 18, 2015
Pros: Easy going and good room facilities.
Location: Location was brilliant for the harbour area and only a short walk to the main downtown areas and restaurants. We never had to move the car.
When we booked this we were surprised by the lower cost compared to other bookings, but thought let's go anyway as it is so convenient. When we got our room we were so pleased with the accommodation and it is literally 5 minutes from the harbour area. The parking was really easy and a small daily charge was value for money. The room was so useful with the little kitchen area and the bed was really comfortable and large. We would certainly use this hotel again and will recommend it to any of our visiting friends.

A Winner

Posted Jun 10, 2015
Pros: A budget price for a top class spacious hotel unit
Cons: A lift would be an advantage for upper floors
Location: A great location very central to transport, parks and attractions
Could not fault this hotel unless you require a waterfront view.

Günstiges Hotel in bester Lage.

Posted Jun 4, 2015
Pros: Lage!!

Nothing to write home about

Posted May 28, 2015
Pros: The rooms were clean and for the most part the staff was friendly
Cons: Restocking of the rooms, had to ask for coffee.
Location: Beacon hill park, BC museum, Robert Bateman works,
The room was very small and the walls were paper thin.. The TV in the next room was right behind my bed and on the first night the TV was on all night and kept me awake for most of it. I knocked on the wall around 3 am and they turned off the TV for about half a hour. I was there for a week and everyday I could hear what the people in the next room were saying. Had to ask the chamber maid for toilet paper and a box of kleenex. When I checked out there was a charge of $10.50 for parking which I told the clerk I wasn't made aware of when booking. Told her it would have be nice to know before hand and mentioned that everyone would have a car to park and she told not everybody does. I told her about the thin walls and said I am sorry about that but wasn't really concerned.

Three day visit

Posted May 27, 2015
Just stayed 3 days to visit old stomping grounds from 50 years ago. The Helms is located by the waterfront near the Natural History Museum. I walked to most of the sites nearby and ate at nearby restaurants, most recommended by the front desk staff. I had to drive 10 minutes for one visit, but mostly walked around. The old floors seemed to creak when people walked overhead, but it gave the building character. Nice patio outside, but that was where the smokers went and some would drift into my room. I am not allergic, but kind of annoying. Not sure if there was an elevator, but the stairs were easy to climb.

Helms Inn for Business Trips

Posted May 18, 2015
Helms Inn was a perfect location for my 3 days of work in Victoria. I was teaching at the City's Parks Admin office in Beacon Hill Park, so every day I got to walk through the park to work and back. It was delightful. The staff at Helms were friendly, curteous, and always helpful. My room was clean and nicely furnished - the kitchen was great for making breakfasts and dinners. Close to downtown restaurants. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
