“Best place to stay!”

We were in a queen room. It was so spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was bigger than my own at home. The rates are very reasonable for such a gem. It was more homey than a sterile hotel room with a hard mattress. The towels were so soft! There was even a fresh cut rose in the bathroom.

“Good deal”

For the money, Helm's Inn provided comfortable lodgings in an excellent location. It is around the corner from the Royal BC museum, a block from the bus depot, and a short walk from the Inner Harbor. The service was minimal but not bad. I got there earlier than check-in time, and they let me get a room early. The room was nice with a decent kitchen. The bathroom was a bit small, but everything else was pretty nice. The location is the just excellent. As a single female traveler, I felt safe walking to/from the hotel. Noise level was not too bad even though I faced Douglas St.

“Pleasantly surprised. Highly recommended.”

I usually don't leave reviews, but felt compelled to do so after our experience at the Helms Inn. Our family was planning a trip to Victoria on the Memorial day weekend, which we learned later was also the weekend of a very big bicycle event that filled up a lot of the hotels early on and made the hotel options limited. I'll be frank, Helm's Inn wasn't my first choice, but it will be on the top of my list next time I go to Victoria. Location: you are litterally on the same block of the BC Royal museum, on the other side of the street of the Beacon Hill park, 3 minutes walk to the peer, parliament and Empress, and a few more from the rest downtown Victoria has to offer. Amenities: while the hotel structure isn't new or large, both rooms we stayed in were nicelly decorated, had a full kitchen, 2 flatscreen TVs, a small table and couch and free wireless internet, which were all welcomed. The only complaint I would have is that it was a little noisy from our room, which was facing the street corner. But traffic died down pretty quickly and didn't bother us after 10pm. This is by far the best "2-star" hotel experience I've had in my life, topping many "3-star" I've been to. Highly recommended for sightseeing Victoria.

“Would definitely return”

Great location, large lovely room, very pleasant staff. I was looking forward to the continental breakfast because of what other reviewers had said, but unfortunately, it has been discontinued. That was the only thing missing, but because there was coffee and tea in the room as well as a refrigerator and microwave, you can plan ahead. Overall, I was very satsfied, and will return.

“A Great Find”

The Helms Inn was a wonderful hotel in a very convenient location. The room was quite spacious and very clean. The staff was cordial and had excellent recommendations for local dining options. The only drawback was the fact that there was a charge to gain online access in the room, and there was a limited amount of the number of logins they had available for guests. The hotel does offer a computer with free Internet access in the lobby, though, which is an option for those unwilling to pay the fee. Overall, I was very impressed with this hotel and would stay there on a return trip.

“Home away from home”

Helms inn is located right across from the park and within easy walking distance of the harbor and downtown Victoria. The staff is attentive and welcoming. Our room was comfy, the bed had an excellent pillow top mattress and we liked having the kitchenette. Tea and cookies in the lobby in the afternoon, juice, fruit, muffins & coffee provided in our room for the morning - complete with real half & half and butter in the fridge. Parking onsite for an additional $5. No complaints there. Our room was very reasonably priced. We'll be back.

“Impressed after getting into the room”

It looks a small old inn from outside, but the room was newly renovated. The one bedroom suite has a kitchen with facilities and a living room. The bedroom is pretty comfortable even it looks slightly small. Newly remodeled bathroom is really impressive. The hotel locates at the corner Royal BC Museum and it's very convenient to walk to inner harbor. Front desk is always very helpful.

“Great location, comfy room! Walk to ferry, shops, museum and restaurants.”

We always stay at the Helm's Inn when in Victoria. Loved the one bedroom suite when we stayed with another adult relative -- the sleeper sofa worked great. Having a small kitchen makes snacks and breakfast convenient. Walk to everything. Nice accommodation, quiet, attractive decor, friendly staff, and the perfect location.

“"Great location to see sites and shopping of Victoria"”

Very knowledgeable and friendly reception desk. The roon was very clean. The water pressure in the shower was fantastic! We were able to easily walk to all the shops and restaurants on and off of Government street. We would definitely return to this hotel.
