The good news is that the room was recently refurbished, with all new flooring and furniture. It was roomy with a kitchenette and the water pressure in the shower was great. And it was not too expensive compared to other nearby properties. It is also in a great location - close to downtown but not so close the it would be noisy at closing time. The only negatives are that I was on the third floor and it is a walk up; the hallway carpets are a little tired; and the water in the shower oscillated in temperature just a bit. Overall would go back and would recommend.

For the price this hotel was great. A bunch of buses ran close to the hotel to get us all around the city. The park was across the street and an easy walk to restaurants. Our room had a separate bedroom with two double beds and a kitchen which worked well for us.

This is a hidden gem!! The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the room was fantastic. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen setup had everything we could ever need. Walkable to everything (attractions, grocery, dining, entertainment, shopping) yet no noise disturbances when trying to sleep. My teenage daughter begged to stay longer! We highly recommend it!

Lovely quiet room #304. Even though it is on a fairly busy street, this suite is quite soundproof. It's also spacious, and newly refurbished. We enjoyed looking out on the trees. We were happy to leave our car parked and walk to Beacon Hill Park kitty corner across the street, and to the Parliament Building and harbour. We enjoyed several good meals at the James Bay Inn restaurant, a few blocks away.

It’s “quaint” - old, old-fashioned, in an old neighborhood and housing lots of old people (and next door to a seniors’ housing unit!). Staff are great, parking well-lit (lots of signs/warnings about theft risk), room was spacious (had a full kitchen!), bed comfortable and proximity to lots of shops and the harbor. On the downside, traffic noise was a nuisance, climbing stairs (no elevator) sucks when you have a bum knee, and the carpets were looking quite B-grade.

Cleanliness was poor. Dirty tables in the suite. The towels were for 2 people in a room booked for 3. The furniture in the room is bad, the sofa fabric is so bad, that it itches. Had a bad experience this time.

We have stayed at this property a number of times over the years. It's an older building but they have continued to update over the years. We stay here for the full kitchen and the proximity to everything we like to do in Victoria. It's great walkable area, we park the car and don't need it until checkout time. Being an older building you will hear noise from the neighbours and it is in the city so there will be some traffic noise. The staff have always been friendly and helpful.

This is my first time staying here. I would stay here again. I did not spend much time on the property. The room was nice and big with a kitchen. I would stay here again just because of it having a kitchen. It was a stellar location across from Beacon Hill Park and next to the Royal BC Museum. It is a few minutes walking distance to the Victoria Conference center where I needed to be everyday so very convenient if thats why you are visiting Victoria. I was so impressed with the clerk upon arrival he accommodated us so well. The room my mom was booked into had a bed that was too high for her to safely get in and out of. The clerk went above and beyond to help us find a solution. Very much appreciated. The overall stay was fantastic I will be back.
