Four star hotel in convenient downtown location

Posted Jul 10, 2014
Pros: The professionalism of concierge and reception staff. Dining room staff good, except for long delay in receiving our drinks order on outside patio.
Cons: Bathrooms in rooms could be updated.
Location: Excellent location on Victoria's Inner Harbour, close to restaurants and most tourist activities. Tourist info centre within easy walking distance.
Enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Had a room at the rear of the building on the 5th floor, no noise so slept very well in comfortable king bed. Art work on walls quite basic & bathrooms also not 4 star but adequate. Service in dining room quite good and food well prepared. This was a non-business trip & I will stay here again.

Poor management, old facilities, unwillingness....

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Only think I liked was the location.
Cons: Be more courteous and professional.
Location: Location was good.
Ok... I admit that I didn't read every little fine prints but my trip to Victoria started from the wrong foot because of the hotel's poor management and unwillingness to do anything. Once I thought it was good but now the facilities are old, outdated, and plus horrible management. First, the room wasn't ready by 3 pm so we had to wait 1 hour. Expedia said room allows upto 5 but they charge $30 per night for a roll out bed! First, I thought the room was not big enough for it and this is the first hotel that I have been to charges for it. Why do they say the room can sleep 5 for doesn't provide adequate space? I asked for a waiver but they wouldn't do it and they wouldn't compensate for being one hour late... My wife and I argued over this for about an hour with their assistant manager and hotel manager but they didn't do anything.... What a stubborn management! For what I had to pay for, it wasn't worth it and will never go back!! I feel like I need to get the money back for this trip...

Nice get away

Pros: Charming. The lap pool was a real nice feature. The gym was quite a few levels above most hotel gyms. The front desk staff was helpful, friendly
Location: this hotel is within walking distance to everything. I did not rent a car and was completely fine!
Nice getaway. Charming hotel in the middle of everywhere i wanted to go.

Terrific hotel close to town and everything

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: The ambiance was wonderful, the room was large, clean and the balcony was great.
Cons: The pool was far from many rooms- you had to go through the parking lot.
Location: Old town, Buthchart Gardens not far, Fisherman's Wharf not too far, Cinatown, Empress hotel for tea- all close.
Everything was great except that we could not borrow the wheelchair for the day- breakfast in the room was wonderful.

While we didn't spend too much time in the hotel, we enjoyed what time we had.

Nice hotel with comfortable bed.

Posted Jul 6, 2014
After I checked out I found my hat left in the room, and when I ask the receptionists, she didn't as polite as the time I live here. However, the service staff helped me in a very gentle way. In sum, it is a cozy hotel to stay.

Cons: Food service and quality of food could be improved upon.
Upon checking the front desk staff had a rubber duck ready to give to our 1 year old. Staff are very friendly. Food service was a little lacking.

Great hotel; excellent location

Posted Jul 1, 2014
Pros: Location, room size, cleanliness.
The hotel is less than a block away from the ferry terminal, which was convenient since we were carrying 20 lb backpacks. We got a king suite with double door entry. The room was huge, with a two sitting areas. The balcony offered a partial view of the harbor. The room was incredibly quiet, and we only heard other people in the hallway on our checkout day. The beds were comfortable and the towels decent. We didn't take advantage of many of the amenities (restaurants, room service), but the hotel staff was very friendly. The location is central to most everything and we were able to walk to the city center. The parliament building is just across the street, the royal museum is a block away and the downtown area is within walking distance. This is a beautiful hotel, in a great location for a decent price. I would not hesitate to stay here again on future visits.

Beautiful hotel on the waterfront.

Posted Jun 30, 2014
We loved staying here. It was close to all the major sites on the waterfront and an easy walk from the ferry terminal. We walked everywhere and loved Victoria. The hotel was gorgeous with a family of ducks living in the little canal outside the front door. Very helpful staff. The only thing to improve on is that it did not seem to be well-publicized that their main floor restaurant served breakfast. We discovered this on our last morning and had made use of their coffee bar the previous morning. The restaurant breakfast was good but spendy, but what isn't in BC!

Terrific hotel, centrally located.

Posted Jun 30, 2014
Hotel is terrific. Just steps from the ferry terminal and centrally located to just about everything in Downtown Victoria. Room was comfortable, bed was awesome. The breakfast buffet was superb and reasonably priced. Didn't get a chance to check out the pool or spa, but heard from others that they were great.
