Great hotel and location

Posted Dec 19, 2014
Super friendly, accommodating staff. Comfortable, luxurious but simple room with nice touches. Very comfortable mattress. Other than traffic noise, quite quiet. In-house Veneto tapas bar is excellent (though it is expensive). Loved staying here!

I was very pleasantly surprised by the Hotel Rialto. It's great value, helpful service and a perfect location for exploring Victoria.

Best cocktail bar in Victoria

Posted Dec 3, 2014
Location: Right in the middle of everything.
Two exceptional things about this hotel: Morning: The hotel cafe is excellent; both the espresso and the cafe itself. Evening: The cocktail bar is excellent and packed with a younger professional crowd (at least it was on the Thursday night I was there).

Lovely hotel

Posted Dec 1, 2014
Pros: Location, breakfast, cheese plate, earplugs.
Cons: The noise, but I'm not sure if anything can be done about that.
Location: Rebar, the Bengal Lounge at the Empress, Miniature World, the Royal BC Museum.
The location is very near lots of restaurants, shops, etc. Not far from the harbor. The room was rather noisy, but they do provide earplugs. It was great to have breakfast every day, as well as the complimentary cheese plate. We went to the happy hour at Veneto (the restaurant downstairs with the cheese plate) and it was awesome! The bed was a bit firm. The hotel staff was really lovely.

Cosy

The Rialto looked after my wife and I very well. We were extremely impressed by the genuine friendliness and helpfulness of each/all of the staff. We never felt 'disrespected' by anyone at any time during our stay. And we shall return.

small, stuffy-not recommended

Posted Nov 29, 2014
Pros: Down town, clean
Decided on a quick getaway to Victoria for the weekend. Have stayed at different hotels in or near the downtown centre and have been generally happy with the selection. The room at the rialto was clean, but very small considering what one can find in other places of comparable price. definitely won't be returning there in the future.

Nice, central location. Noisy.

Posted Nov 23, 2014
Pros: Location, cleanliness, aesthetic.
Cons: Not sure if they can do anything about the noise, as it's structural. Front desk said that it's as good as it gets in the downtown area. I'm dubious.
Location: Walk to shopping, restaurants, govt buildings, museum, waterfront.
One night stay in this clean, modern, well-located hotel. Structure must be old because heating and pipe noises (cracking, flushing, etc.) as well as neighbouring noise kept us up. Ear plugs provided on night stands, which was a first for me, but we quickly found out why.

Great location and guest amenities

Posted Nov 16, 2014
The bed and pillows were super comfy. I enjoyed the complimentary cheese platter at Veneto as well as the morning hot bevy and baked good. Hotel staff were friendly and professional. I went to the private gym down the street which was a nice amenity since it's a small boutique hotel.
