Pros: The décor and the room was very comfortable.
We stayed for 3 nights and the room was great, the free shuttle service to downtown was very helpful. They had great tips on where to go and eat. Will defiantly stay there again.

Great for families.

Pros: The unique retro decor and amenities, the pool and waterslide, the ping pong tables, the on site restaurant, the in room comic book, VW shuttle bus...
Cons: There was a lot of condensation on the sliding glass door after using the shower, fan in bathroom was not very efficient and rather noisy.
Location: Near restaurants, close to Topaz Park, across the street from Mayfair Mall, not far from downtown.
My six year old son loved this place as did we. Lots of fun! We will be back!

Lovely

Pros: friendliness , cleanliness, comfortable beds , proximity to bus and downtown Victoria
Cons: the outside doors could fit more snugly, it cold and windy you would feel this in room
Location: close to city buses, major roads, downtown Victoria, shopping centres,
We my sister in law and I arrived to a warm welcome at lobby, and were very pleased when we saw our room. it was colorful, and yet restful, clean and beds very comfortable. Staff provided an extra blanket first night as it was a chilly night. We had coffee in lobby and then settled in for night. There were many young people there first night and it was nice to see them entertaining themselves in the lobby area, thought this whole set up was an excellent idea. We found we were happy to be back in our room after a day of sightseeing. We could then grab a cup of coffee and relax.

Hey Bonnie, thanks for taking the time to review Hotel Zed! Sounds like you had a great stay and that makes us happy! Appreciate the comment about the doors. We will have a look at the weather stripping to see if we can improve the seal when the door is closed. Hope to welcome you back again soon! Chris Knight General Manager

Fun & Funky Retro

Posted May 5, 2015
Pros: The retro style, the funky colors, the VW vans, the friendly upbeat staff, the cleanliness of the room. And pet friendly if we want to bring our dog!
Cons: Can't think of anything, other than an extra towel or two in the room!
Location: Great location, across from Mayfair Shopping Centre (no need to drive!) and Denny's next door for breakfast. Central to downtown.
This is not your average hotel. The attention to detail to capture an era is fun and exciting. Our room was very clean and simple, yet the pops of color and the retro style of the furnishings and accessories brought the room to life and put a smile on our faces as we recalled a bygone era. The staff was welcoming, upbeat and obviously enjoyed their jobs. We were upgraded to a king-size bed, at no extra charge, simply because they thought we were a fun couple! The Ruby cafe at the hotel served great beer and appies during happy hour. We loved the retro VW shuttle vans, bikes painted in funky colors, free for your use, the color scheme of the exterior. One certainly can't miss the Zed! Although located on busy Douglas Street, we had a quiet room without traffic noise bothering us. It was a memorable stay and we will definitely make the Zed our first choice on further trips to Victoria.

A bit small for 3 women but we did ok. Could use another surface for suitcases. Staff were great and the atmosphere was wonderful. All in all s very good experience

Thanks for the review M We appreciate the comment about the suitcase shelf. We will look into more space for this sort of thing. Hopefully we get the chance to welcome you back again. We also have larger 1 bedroom suites which would accommodate 3 adults really nicely so be sure to ask us about those! Chris Knight General Manager
