Good for one night stay

Posted Aug 29, 2014
Pros: Beds were comfortable, nice to have pool and sauna.
Cons: Bathroom renovations, Male/Female signs in the shower area in the pool. Continental breakfast/restaurant for breakfast would be good.
Location: Convenient to downtown.
Pool, sauna and free parking a good incentive. Bathroom needs renovations. Closet was dirty. There were no male/female signs in the shower facilities in the pool, and it was confusing.

Good budget hotel in Victoria

Posted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: Price, free parking, quiet and within five minutes driving time to downtown Victoria
Cons: Cleanliness, the sinks could have been better cleaned
Location: There is an amazing Oriental food restaurant a couple of blocks away that we dined at - amazing food! Plus a pizza restaurant, and convenience store
The hotel is older and has some dated features and is further away from downtown Victoria, but overall it felt safe, the staff was helpful, and the room was comfortable. Since it is an older hotel it has wall air conditioners which can be a bit noisy. We were there only to sleep for one night, and the price was definitely the main draw. We also liked the free parking and wifi. I arrived with my Mom who is mobility challenged and really appreciated the ramps and elevator access. The hotel was also surprisingly quiet, so we had a good rest. I noticed there were a lot of different patrons at this hotel, couples, families, elder travelers, and younger travelers. I'd recommend this to the budget traveler who wants the basics since it was much more affordable than the downtown hotels.

For a last minute booking not as bad as I imagined

Posted Aug 26, 2014
Not the greatest check in procedure (required an extra $$ in case of damages even with credit card payment). Restaurant/bar is definitely not family/kid friendly but had great food. Ask at the front desk before going to the pool for towels is a must as you will have to pass the bar in bathing suit otherwise not good!! Room quiet, noisy air conditioner and pretty clean room & felt safe.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in

Posted Aug 25, 2014
This hotel is so rundown and dirty. Everything is dated and old. The AC was so noisy that we couldn't even use it. The windows had no screens on them. Fridge and TV also made a lot of noise, which was annoying. The bed was uncomfortable with lumpy pillows and scratchy bedding. I felt dirty walking on the carpet and sitting on the couch. The shower had horrible water pressure. Wallpaper was peeling off. Do not stay here unless you have no other choice.

Substandard hotel.

Posted Aug 23, 2014
The room cleanliness was substandard upon check in. Some hygiene issues included: stained carpets, an 8" in diameter grease patch (perhaps from food) on the night stand, multiple locations with human hairs, and collections of filth in multiple locations. The dumpster was left open, and this attracted a group of raccoons. The raccoons made a loud screaching sound during the night, which caused me to wake up. Though I reported this issue, the dumpster was left open after the first incident and the raccoons were able to return to continue the loud disturbance.

Budget Hotel

Posted Aug 23, 2014
Pros: Good parking and proximity to downtown
Cons: The cleanliness was okay but a good scrubbing around the edges would go a long way.
Location: Good location to downtown. We took the bus to the Empress Hotel and made our way back on foot. It worked out perfectly
Just what you expect from a budget hotel. The staff was nice the hotel was okay.

Pleasant, clean, in need of some updating

Posted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: Clean, comfortable
Cons: Noisy, old air conditioner
Location: Short drive to downtown Victoria
A pleasant stay - the hotel is generally in need of some updating, but everything worked and was nice and clean. The air con unit in our room was rather old and noisy. Friendly, helpful staff.
