“Lovely Stay at Laurel Point”
The grounds and hotel were lovely and the room in the Erickson Wing was spacious and well appointed. The room had a nice deck and a view of the inner harbor. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was oversized with a glassed-in shower, double sinks, lots of counter space and a soaking tub with marble floors and countertops. The room had lots of storage. Ate at the restaurant, Aura, and the food was delicious and service excellent! I would definately stay there again!
“Sore back in Canada”
I had stayed at Laurel Point several years ago and I was impressed with the updated, modern, clean rooms as well as the comfortable beds. This time, while our rooms was clean and modern, the mattress on our bed was very hard. I had to put 2 blankets down and sleep on half of the comforter in order to get a half way decent nights sleep. I think its time for such a nice hotel to have adequate mattresses.
“very enjoyable”
Wonderful room in the Erickson Wing. Fabulous bathroom. Great artwork through out. Cafe for breakfast was slow but the food was good. Great views everywhere.
“don't waste your money”
staff was friendly and location's good. next to victoria clipper. we were in the older wing and it really needs to be renovated. very out dated. the walls are very thin. we could hear everything from the room next door. we had to ask to be moved. upgraded to a different room but not much better. lots of other hotels in victoria to try. don't waste your money on this one.
“IT TOUCHED OUR HEART !”
How can you describe the rainbow? Four times in Victoria and now we know what we missed: this hotel ! So romantic in and out, and the harbour...inspired me to write a poem. I believe if you stay there once you will always want to come back . It's like the first love. The staff is so nice and caring, the room was beautiful and with a view without being expensive. They will upgrade you if they can. Aura"s lunch was good and we enjoyed walking around so much I almost cried I had to go back home so soon because we got prepaid reservation for the ferry for Anacortes. Next time we will take our dogs with us. I know they will be welcomed there because they make everything easy for you to enjoy their company while in vacation.Next time we will spend more time in and around the hotel to take advantage of its beauty ! Yes, we lived one day in Paradise ! THANKS FOR THE GREAT MANAGEMENT THERE ! Can I say we love you?! See you soon !
“Inn at Laurel Point - very poor”
With all of the hype, it sucked. I've stay in nicer 2 star hotels. I stayed in room 219 June 6-7 2011. The large body sized stain on the ceiling and multiple stains on the rug were disgusting! The view was non-existent. The balcony was small, filthy and lack of chairs made it pretty well useless. Numerous stains on the ceiling in the bathroom were not cleaned even after complaining at the desk. Hallways leading from the elevator were dark, dingy, dirty, pain chips, scrapped wallpaper etc. Outdated furnishings in the room and the old tube to added to the poor experience. We do not recommend this hotel and the management did not offer any compensation.
“Worthy of a Return Visit”
An exceptional view from our Erickson Wing Studio included harbor and hotel's Japanese Garden--A spacious parklike setting in contrast to more crowded setting of other hotels being considered. Studio was also spacious and the bed was surprisingly comfortable. However, the size of soaking tub was overstated and toiletries appeared to be rationed. Dinner at its Aura Restaurant was not up to the physical standards of the hotel, but OK for breakfast. Preferred to have dinner at the Oswego Hotel's Bistro nearby. Locatiion best suited to those who enjoy walking--with many paths/trails available along the waterfront--to & rom the Inner Harbor.
“Not the total zen experience implied...but fine”
From how it describes itself, you would think the Inn was truly spa-like and zen feeling. It is really not. Perfectly adequate, clean, quiet and restful. I gather there is a newer wing that might be more plush and luxurious. But the cards that said, "if you ever want to leave your room..." ? I think it over-promotes a bit. The views are great and the people are nice. Good restaurant and none of the slight ticky-tackiness you can find in the Inner Harbor. But...hearing this was one of the top 25 hotels in Canada was a surprise to me. I would stay here again, with the right expectations.
“Gorgeous room, great view”
The room was gorgeous. We had a great view of the bay. The restaurant, Aura, was terrific. And the weather even got sunny while we were there. Couldn't be better.
“Everything worked”
Everything was as expected. Nice views, comfortable room, The only problem was the weather - but it is winter.
