Good experience

Posted Jan 26, 2015
Cons: No free wifi if you book via outside source (Expedia, hotels.com etc). Seemed petty.
Location: On the habour, close to downtown.
Great location, spacious, comfortable room. Would definitely stay here again.

Excellent location

The hotel was great, check in was awesome! We arrived very early and they found us a room that was available at that time. Any questions that we had they went out of the way to help. The location was perfect...just a short scenic walk into town. Great experience. We would totally recommend it and we will be going back on our next visit to Victoria.

Read the fine print

Posted Jan 23, 2015
I don't know the Victoria area very well so I book a room whatever hotel looks nice and is affordable and is close to where I have to be for work. I guess I didn't read closely enough and was disappointed to find when I arrived that parking was $17 a night (I was given the option to park down the street in an un-secured lot for less) and that wifi was $9.99. I'm used to parking and wifi being included in hotels so it definitely came as a surprise, but again, maybe my fault for not paying closer attention. The room wasn't anything extraordinary and I wasn't impressed at all with the menu at the restaurant. Lesson learned. I won't be staying here again.

Nice Location, Comfortable mattress.

Posted Jan 19, 2015
Pros: Really liked the Serta Mattress, very comfortable with just right degree of firmness. Liked the patio door openining and overlooking the duck pond.
Cons: Upgrade to cotton bed sheets. Replace broken arm chairs. Remove unsanitary wooden coasters. Change faucets, they are round & too hard to turn/operate
Location: Close to Parliament, the Museum, Shopping. All with walking distance.
Hotel Location is great. I have stayed here before. The sliding doors opened to a small patio. Would be really nice on a sunny day. The coffee in the room is good quality. The bedding was clean and nicely pressed and the mattress is very comfortable. Decent flat screen TV with Telus Optik. A little disappointed with the broken caning on the small armchairs. Furniture should be in good repair. It's too bad the very noisy people in the next room indiscreetly wakened me for some time at 12:37am and spoiled my stay. Not the Hotel's fault. Generally a pretty classy hotel so it was disappointing that other guests were so inconsiderate and inappropriate.

Thank you Isladie for your comments. You are absolutist right, future should be in good repair. We have actually received new furniture pieces for our Laurel Wing Guest Rooms, and although they were not here for your most recent stay, we hope that when you return, you will notice an improvement.

Don't book through a third party reseller .

Posted Jan 19, 2015
Pros: Location.
Cons: See above. Free parking and WiFi would be a start.
If you book through Expedia, these guys will charge you extra for everything. WiFi, parking etc. If you complain, the they just say well you should have booked directly with us. If they are trying to put the resellers out of business, why bother to see to them? It gives the hotel a bad name.

Niothing free

Nice hotel but they gouge you at every opportunity. Ridiculous charge for WiFi. Even the Super Eight motel has free WiFi.

Great view in a decent hotel.

Posted Jan 5, 2015
Pros: They view of the water and the walking paths are extraordinary.
This is a nice hotel and is right near downtown. A beautiful area to walk or run right along the harbour and very central to tourist attractions and shopping. The only thing stopping me from rating them higher is their petty policy of giving free internet if you contact them directly but charging extra for using a booking site. If they do not want people using the sites then they should not use them to book rooms for them.
