Overall, a nice hotel for the price. Location is great, close to shopping, etc. Room was okay, a little dim, lighting not the greatest. But it was an okay stay for the weekend.

Noisy Neighbours!Posted Dec 23, 2014
Pros: The location and the price.
Cons: Yes, I should have received a discount because of the noisy people next door.
Location: Close to main shopping districts and entertainment.
This hotel is in a great location and offers very reasonable rates. The rooms are decent but all the good things a hotel does can be wrecked by noisy guests who disturb others. A hotel is a place to sleep, not a place to party and make noise late into the night keeping people awake. The people in the room next door thought nothing of laughing, yelling and banging around in the room well past midnight. I called the front desk twice to have them intervene to quiet down the inconsiderate guests. The hotel failed when I checked out the next morning as they did not even bother to record the calls I made to the desk the night before about the noise in the next room. When I filled the desk person in, there was no offer to discount my rate because of the noise although they did say they did do that from time to time. I was going to ask for the discount but instead I suggested they charge the noisy people more for their room because of the noise they made. I was told that they could also do that and I'm hoping that they did. The hotel really made no effort to make sure I left satisfied.

For the price it is great. Slight smoker smell in room, but otherwise fine.

Great ValuePosted Dec 15, 2014
Pros: Kitchenette, triple sheeted, comfortable beds, microwave and fridge, quiet, laminate flooring rather than carpet (in the room we had) nice furnishings
Location: It is very near Walmart and the Mayfair mall. 5 min to downtown. Walking trail right behind property.
We appreciate the Red Lion. All the more after staying at a lot of other motels. It is very good value. Strong internet connection. Good location...(see: What did you like about this hotel)

great value!Posted Dec 8, 2014
Pros: Appreciated there was NO carpet in our room! we liked there was a lounge and bar food was pretty darn good!
Cons: parking, more spaces
Location: location was good for us, we park and use taxi's and fairly close to everywhere we needed to go.
Arrived earlier than expected and staff were very accommodating and got us into a nice clean room. Surprisingly quiet considering we were on a major street and there was beer & wine store attached to hotel.

Nice room with kitchen facilitiesPosted Nov 16, 2014
I loved the mini kitchen on the room. Bed very comfy. Maybe 12 min from downtown, 5 min walking to closest bus stop. Nice staff. However, I booked a studio and got a room with 2 double beds instead of a queen bed because they didn't have it for me. Friday night there was done loud neighbors outside the building that kept me awake for long that I want.

Nice hotelPosted Nov 7, 2014
Cons: We found the room was too hot at night, but there is no info how to,control the heat.
We were just overnight as we had business in Chemanius earlier in,the day and an appointment in Victoria the next day so it was cheaper and less time travelling to stay over one night.
