Victoria Weekend

Posted Jul 27, 2015
Pros: Location and price.
Cons: Can't think of a thing.
Location: We were within walking distance of all the attractions around the Inner Harbor. There are plenty of good restaurants within just a few blocks.
My daughter and I stayed at the Admiral Inn for 2 nights. Although we did have our car, we walked nearly everywhere and avoided parking trouble by leaving our car at the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very nice and the beds were extremely comfortable. The continental breakfast was better than many I have had.

Just what we needed

Posted Jul 22, 2015
This was the second time that we had stayed at the Admiral Inn. If you are looking for a reasonably-priced, nice hotel in a great location by Victoria's Inner Harbour, then this should suit you perfectly. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the beds were very comfortable and the hotel is well maintained inside and out. We stayed for a week and it was nice to have a small kitchenette with stove, frig, and microwave. We had a rental car and it was a pleasant surprise to be able to park for free. The continental breakfast was more than adequate. We would definitely stay again the next time that we come to visit family and see the sights.

Walking distance to everything on the harbour

Posted Jul 21, 2015
Location: Starbucks is practically next door. Walking distance to the BC Museum/IMAX, the weekend Farmer's Markets and Fisherman's Wharf.
We stayed a couple of nights in June 2015. Our apartment-style room was a tad dated but had plenty of space for the three of us. We loved the close proximity to the harbour and the fact that we could park our vehicle at the hotel and walk to everything. The hotel also has nice bikes that you can use for free. The room rate was a little high for the overall quality of the hotel but it's one of the least expensive places to stay if you want to be close to the harbour. As for the "oceanview" the hotel write-up promises, the hotel is perpendicular to the shoreline - you have to walk out onto the shared balcony and look to your immediate left to glimpse the water. Otherwise, a nice place and we'd stay again.

right on waterfront -good value

Posted Jul 19, 2015
Pros: location
Cons: expedia could be honest about the rooms they're presenting
Location: Victoria waterfront, lots of culture and sights to see, museums 1/4 away, Butchart Gardens 12 miles, easy access
at first I was put off by the lack of view; 1st floor, lumpy beds, dingy bathroom. however, for the 2 days we stayed it was convenient and really quiet on the waterfront after about 9 pm. staff are hospitable. breakfast in cramped lobby space, but acceptable for "continental" fare. our first night, someone "knocked" on our door about 12:30 a.m.; this was possible because the bottom floor rooms are open to an unsecured back walkway.

MEETS LARGER FAMILY NEEDS AND LOCATION, LOCATION!

Posted Jul 15, 2015
The Admiral Inn is not the W, but it IS a great option for a family of five or more. The hotel is just a short walk from the Parliament Buildings and the Empress Hotel. Our family of five fit very well in the King Suite (King, Double, and Double hideaway sofa). There was also a good sized refrigerator, oven/stove, microwave, and plates, cups, utensils. For the price, for the location, you can't beat it. It is a bit older, but very clean. The staff were super nice. The free breakfast left much to be desired--but it's free. They also have free parking and wifi. Truly a good option for a big family.

Nice place

Posted Jul 6, 2015
Hotel is very close to the inner harbor. They swapped rooms for me since I needed a kitchen which wasn't in the original request. I enjoyed the hotel/room/breakfast. Appliances are a bit dated but not a problem for me.

In the middle of Victoria city center

Posted Jul 6, 2015
Pros: The veranda with view to the harbor, and kitchen facilities.
Cons: The TV does not work.
Location: Short way to the harbor, easy to find by car.
Very nice hotel. Easy to find, short distance from the parking slots to the elevator, and rooms with veranda.
