“Hidden Gem”

I stayed here while on vacation to Victoria based on the references written from previous travelers to The Magnolia Hotel. This hotel is wonderful! Comfortable room, great, informative and friendly staff who pay attention to detail and very accomodating to your requests. Location is also fantastic. Sites, shopping and delicious restaurants all within walking distance. Highly recommend!

“Perfect location!”

From the minute we got to the hotel (hours early) our stay was awesome! Our digital camera broke on the ferry over to the island, so instead of heading straight to Butchart we stopped at the hotel to see if they could offer any advice of where to go. Not only did the desk attendant offer up maps and store options (even calling one store to see when they opened!), but they let us check in early and park our car there so we could walk over to the mall. The only day we needed our car again was to go to Butchart (in the snow!) ... everywhere else we just walked to ... in one direction you had the Empress and museum, in the other you had awesome bars and restaurants - everything so close to the hotel! And the hotel really does leave fresh fruit, bottled water, and the best caramels EVER in your room for you daily - all complimentary! Oh, and all of the toiletries are Aveda products since there is an Aveda spa in the hotel - that sadly we didn't make it to this trip. I'd recommend this hotel in a heartbeat!

“Too Good to be True”

If I planned to be in Victoria anytime soon I might hesitate to say this for fear they would not have space for me or that the rates would increase. My wife and I felt that this lodging was extaordinarily nice and extraordinarily well priced. The hotel in general and our room in particular were both very nice and the breakfast included in the price was much better than any similar offering everywhere else we stayed. The staff was very friendly and helpful especially in directing us to a fabulous restaurant that none of the travel books seemed to know about.

“A True Gem”

This was one of the nicest surprises of my trip. The hotel exceeded all my expectations. The rate was reasonable and the accommodations were superb. The location was perfect for convenience and moving around town. The room, from the china coffee cups, excellent products, fantastic bed ,and great view were exceptional. If I return to Victoria, I will definetly stay at the Magnolia

“Very nice”

The Magnolia is in a great location and has very comfortable rooms. They have free wireless internet in the rooms and a nice continental breakfast is included as well. The staff were very helpful. There are nice restaurants all around and it's close the mall and other shops. The rooms are a nice size with very comfortable beds. Bathrooms are very nice as well.

“A terrific experience.”

Just returned from a 3 day trip to Victoria for our anniversary. I booked our room at the Magnolia to try something different and I had seen some wonderful reviews on the property. I was definitely not disappointed The hotel is beautiful. The lobby is small and nicely decorated. There is a nice sitting area with a fireplace and always hot tea and coffee. The staff is some of the best that I have seen. They are courteous, helpful, and make you feel like you are the only guest in the hotel. They also do not put their hand out for a tip every time they help you with something...very classy. The rooms are very nicely decorated and the Aveda products in the bathroom certainly scored points with my wife. The furnishings were great, there was a nice desk and complimentary high-speed internet. The hotel is also in a great location, just a block up from Government Street and the waterfront, it was a perfect location for exploring Victoria. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

“Highly Recommend”

The location, furnishings, and customer serivce were superb! Great food, lounge, and fun pub area - very close to (walking distance) to a lot of great places (restaurants, pubs, sites), etc. Very upscale hotel - we enjoyed our stay!

“Gorgeous view.”

We had a corner room with an unobstructed view of the Parliment building, and most of the Empress. The staff had wonderful restaurant reccomendations. The room was quite comfortable. We loved that if our balcony was open we could her the rumba band playing out on the street. The location couldn't have been better. I would reccomend this hotel to anyone.

“convenient to waterfront and Pacific Coast bus station”

Located next to the historic Empress Hotel which must cost at least twice as much, Magnolia had a lovely large bedroom, continental breakfast, and offers luggage check after room check out so you can tour the area before leaving town. Greylines offer rides to Buchardt Gardens a 5 minute walk away.

“What a great experience”

Our reservation had not been uploaded yet, so there was some confusion as to our itinerary number. They caught the error quickly however, and they upgraded our room for our trouble! The service was OUTSTANDING from the front desk to the doormen. We would stay there again.
