The Magnolia Exceeds Expectations in Every Way

Posted Sep 20, 2014
Pros: The staff, the room, the restaurant and the location.
Cons: The restaurant might consider increasing staffing to ensure speedy service.
Location: Since the Magnolia is located in the center city, the Parliament Building, access to the "hop on hop off" tour bus, and a myriad number of restaurants
The Magnolia is conveniently located in center city Victoria within walking distance of many restaurants and tourist attractions. The staff is the core of the Magnolia experience and strives to accommodate guests to the fullest extent. Our initial greeting - arriving late after the restaurant closed - was extraordinary. Without request or expectation, cups of tea and food were brought to our room at no charge. The remainder of our stay was equally impressive. The room was quite large and comfortable, even containing a gas fireplace to enhance its ambiance.

Beautiful gem in the heart of downtown Victoria

Posted Sep 16, 2014
Location: Adjacent to the Fairmont Empress, a 3 minute walk to Victoria Harbour. 5 minutes to the Legislature.
Enjoy the main rooms of the Fairmont Empress Next door while having the best bedrooms as compared between the two hotels. Spa is fabulous and prices are better at the Magnolia as well. Gorgeous classic modern d├ęcor in muted grey tones, fabulous Aveda toiletries. Excellent bellmen and front-of-house staff. Very well priced. I'll definitely be staying here again!

5 Fabulous days at the Magnolia

Posted Sep 15, 2014
Pros: Location, spa amenities, service and small size
My daughter and I spent 5 days in Victoria and stayed at this wonderful boutique hotel. Located right downtown steps from the harbor and within walking distance of so many restaurants and tourist attractions. Turn down service with chocolate and ice very night. On arrival there was chocolate as well as fresh apples in our room. If you book on expedia the breakfast is not included so check about this when booking. Staff were so helpful and courteous.

Serious luxury

Posted Sep 12, 2014
Pros: The luxurious, quiet atmosphere and well trained staff.
Cons: Nothing
Location: Well located within walking distance of shopping, good restaurants, and tourist sites in Victoria.
The Magnolia is a posh hotel with well trained staff, turn down service, quality toiletries and linens, robes, slippers, turn down service, fruit and water in your room upon arrival. We felt pampered, slept well, and were delighted with the amenities here. Every need seemed to be anticipated.

Wonderful Hotel

Posted Sep 7, 2014
Pros: Close to everything. Rooms are beautiful.
Cons: And balcony would be nice. Otherwise it is perfect.
Location: Two blocks from water, next door to Empress Hotel. Dutch bakery about two blocks. Shops everywhere. Museum and theater one block. Restaurants close.
We stayed a week at this hotel. Was so nice.. Rooms were very nice. The staff was great. They even turned down beds and left chocolate on the pillow while we were out for dinner. Close to walk to everything in downtown. We would stay again.

Charming hotel close to everything

Posted Sep 3, 2014
Pros: See above
Cons: Only thing which can't be changed, the showers are too small.
Location: See above
Very charming. Nice attention to detail. Friendly and helpful staff. Made you feel very comfortable and a valued guest. Nicely appointed rooms. We had a beautiful view of the harbor. Close to everything. You can walk or take a cab for $5-10. Victoria has some wonderful restaurants. Some on the pricey side but well worth the experience.

Very nice boutique hotel within walking distance

Posted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: Location, staff, and room comfort.
Location: Great location. Within short walking distance to the water, shopping, restaurants, etc.
Great place to stay while we were in town for the Tour de Victoria. The staff were professional yet personable and did their best to ensure we enjoyed our stay. We were fortunate to be able to check in early. We had a corner room suite overlooking the city. The room was spacious and comfortable. Wonderfully located within a short walking distance to fabulous restaurants, the water, shopping, museums, etc. The hotel also offered to provide secure storage for my husband's bike which was appreciated. No problems with WiFi connectivity.

Exquisite Boutique Hotel Overlooking The Harbor

Posted Aug 26, 2014
Pros: The staff, service, location and decorum make this boutique hotel a must for any couple hoping for a romantic getaway in Victoria!
Cons: Don't change a thing.
Location: Downtown overlooking the harbor
The staff at the Magnolia are the finest caliber I have ever seen. The service alone is worth every penny! Of course the hotel was fabulous as well, with beautiful spacious rooms, wonderful views and private romantic little fire places. Oh yes, if you stay there, be sure to have breakfast at the hotel's restaurant Catalono. The Eggs Benedict is to die for!
