Friendly and Modern. Close to inner harbourPosted Apr 6, 2014
Pros: Most everything.
Location: A block away from the empress. Half a block away from The Oyster and across the street from 10 Acres. 1 minute walk to inner harbour.
Hotel staff, from doormen to the cleaners, were very friendly, but not overbearing. Just right. The room was well appointed, clean and modern.

Good hotel for a getawayPosted Apr 5, 2014
Pros: Location, furnishings, great doormen - always went out of their way to greet you!
Cons: Can't be improved, but be prepared for street noise.
Location: 2 blocks from the main shopping street, less than 5 minutes walk to the harbour, the visitor centre, BC Legislature, 10 mins from great park!
We spent a week in Victoria to get a break from the ongoing winter on the Prairies. This hotel exceeded what we expected. Less than 5 minutes walk from the harbour, charming, luxurious, and lots of little extras. Chocolates every night, fruit upon arrival, bathrobes, slippers and furnishings all very comfortable. While this hotel has a fitness room, etc. it isn't a hotel with kid stuff. Personally this was a welcome change and my daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed pace. The attached restaurant is excellent - though we only ate breakfast there. Bonus - you get vouchers for a free continental breakfast which is very filling - you can upgrade to a hot meal for an additional price. Close to everything - sights, shopping, water. A welcome change of pace from the realities of life.

The Best Beautiful Boutique HotelPosted Mar 28, 2014
Pros: Indicated above
Cons: Nothing comes to mind
Location: As above plus great nearby restaurants, shopping, The Parliament buildings and beautiful setting of the harbour!
The Magnolia hotel is perfectly located, ideal for the exciting walking city of Victoria. The ambience, decor and flora arrangements were gorgeous ... high end, simple elegance. I usually tire of one hotel after a few days, our 8 night stay was delightful. Inclusive breakfasts were great, all staff were outgoing, helpful, courteous and friendly ... I loved the ladies with the clip boards, assuring me that nothing was overlooked! We will definitely consider bookinga t your hotel in the future. Barb Robins

Girls Night AwayPosted Mar 26, 2014
Pros: Clean, walking distance to everything and a safe area. Staff was very informative to conveniets of the hotel and the area.
Cons: Wish we had more time
Location: Location was great, shopping, restaurants, tourist happenings.....you can leave your car and walk everywhere.
My friend and I wanted a day of shopping and exploring, so we chose Victoria. The Magnolia Hotel was in the perfect location to shop and wander, go out for dinner in a safe convenient location. It was quiet, clean and very comfortable. We both I tend to bring our husbands very soon.

A wonderful hotel, almost perfectPosted Mar 23, 2014
Pros: Location, room, staffs.
Cons: Front desk too busy, parking cost is high, limited choices in breakfast
Location: That is the center of downtown Victoria, you know!
I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The location is nothing you can complain. The hotel staffs are friendly. The hotel room is very nice, quiet and clean. It is almost perfect, if the following aspects can be further polished. 1. The front desk is too busy. I had to wait for a long time for checkout or asking a simple question. The computer system was down when I checked out. I still have not received my parking receipt yet. 2. The selection of continental breakfast at the hotel was very limited. The Saturday morning brunch option for a continental breakfast voucher is barely enough for an adult. 3. The parking cost ($24 per day + tax) is high, comparing to the other hotels in the same area. I think the cost of $16-18 per day is more reasonable. Overall, it is a wonderful hotel. I may come back in the future.

Smack in center of Downtown.Posted Mar 21, 2014
Pros: Keen attention to detail and quality. Walking distance to harbor and Downtown shops and restaurants.
Cons: Firmer pillows would have been appreciated. We don't understand why hotels provide super-fluffy pillows that don't provide support.
Enjoyed our stay at quality hotel. Easy walk from seaport ~ 3 blocks. Excellent hot breakfast option at in-hotel restaurant.

My new favorite hotel in VictoriaPosted Mar 19, 2014
The Magnolia was recommended to me by a friend and colleague, and I can see why. My room was large, with a great view of the legislative buildings and the Empress Hotel. The bed was very comfortable and one could actually bathe in the bathtub. Staff were very helpful. This is my new favorite in Victoria.
