Elegant downtown accommodation

Elegant and contemporary accommodations a block from the inner Harbor. the suite was very nice and cozy. The only criticisms are a queen bed versus a king and the bathroom location was at the fatrend of the suite from the bedroom

Nice hotel at a reasonable price.

Pros: The location and service from the front desk staff.
Cons: Brunch menu and service in the restaurant.
This was our first time staying at the Oswego. We originally booked here because of their dog friendly policy. We ended up not taking our dogs, but were happy that we didn't switch hotels because we found the staff to be very accommodating and friendly and the hotel itself to be clean, well appointed and conveniently located. The bed was very comfortable and the floor to ceiling windows offered wonderful views. Upon check-in we were given a 20% off card to be used at The Bistro. We had breakfast there the following morning. This was the only part of our experience that we felt could have been improved upon. We ordered bacon and eggs with toast. Ikea serves an identical breakfast.....enough said. Very bland. The service in the restaurant was okay. Again, nothing special. We were asked how our meal was but were never offered refills on our coffee or water. Two coffees, two bacon and egg breakfasts less the 20% discount, was $25.

Fantastic! Great location, updated rooms, friendly staff at a very competitive price. The quality of the hotel far exceeded my expectations. I have stayed in 3-4 other hotels in Victoria that were 'fine.' I will certainly be looking for the Oswego first for any other trips I take to Victoria!

Pros: Staff, cleanliness, professional.
Location: Great location. Short walk into town
Great Hotel. Clean, tidy, with comfy beds. Had a small kitchenette replete with a French press, fridge with cream in it too. Really nice.

Nice hotel, lovely staff

I arrived after midnight and was pleasantly greeted by staff and advised that I had also been upgraded to a suite and given a coupon for their bistro. Due to my short stay I wasn't able to try the bistro but overall it was great!

Perfect location.

Pros: Clean, welcoming staff, room configuration great, provided secure bike lockup.
Cons: Not a thing worth noting.
Location: Location close to city centre without being inside the busy tourist area. Emily Carr's home, walk along seawall, tour Parliament buildings,
Smaller property with pleasing personal touches. Its location in a low rise residential area is within walking, cycling and good access to public transit to all we wanted to do and see; rode in off the Lochside Trail; walked to bakeries and restaurants in the Chinatown area. In one direction is city centre, in the other the Pacific Ocean seawall, both only a 10-15 minute from this hotel.

Victoria!

Posted Jan 28, 2015
Pros: The little kitchen! The coffee press and lovely tea, the view
Cons: Our dinner with wine turned out a little pricey even with the 20% discount..... $134 and we only had 1 entree to share plus salad
Location: Walking to the Empress, the Ferry, Government Street, China Town - many very fun pubs
Loved this trip, the Ferry, the walking, the hotel, different happy hour each night. Beer Night, Cocktail Night, Martini Night etc. Our room was very nice and we had a lovely view - staff even gave me an umbrella for a rainy day walk!

Quiet, laid-back hotel

Posted Jan 27, 2015
Pros: Very comfortable, very clean, very helpful staff.
We found our stay very relaxing, as this is a smaller hotel, so . We stayed in a premium one bedroom suite, and enjoyed having access to a kitchen and a living room (in addition to the bedroom). We had dinner one night in the hotel, one breakfast in the dining room, and one breakfast delivered by room service. The menu is not extensive, so if we were going to stay the number of nights we likely would've gone out and visited a few other restaurants close by; however, for our short stay, we found something interesting on the menu. Next time we visit Victoria, we will definitely consider staying here again.
