Value

Valued hotel, it is worthy what you pay for. Hotel staffs are very kind, room with kitchen is also good part. But location is not good, old facilities, Not for family vacation obviously. But young people with friends, maybe. 3rd floor stiff stairs withour elevator.

Rooms Upgraded At No Extra Cost

Posted Jul 16, 2014
Pros: Quiet, comfortable, close to downtown and a supermart.
Cons: Dont think you can improve the building without tearing it down.
Location: Tim Hortons, walks to wood bridge, supermart, mall in Saanich
We got a upgrades room with kitchen and living room overlooking the river with wooden pedestrian bridge. Nice view. Swimming pool and exercise room was useful too. Got some walk-out so you can exit to your car quickly and conveniently. Couldn't hear footsteps above. Although the building is old, rooms are well maintained, cleaned and organized.

Good experience, what you paid for, good view

Posted Jul 11, 2014
Location: The location is good, close to everything, with good view
The room has all the amenities you can expect. Fridge, microwave, even a stove. Nice big size air conditioner. However the gym and pool could be better.

very unpleasant experience 1st time

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: rooms were clean
Cons: payment options
I booked through expedia along with my ticket and I paid by visa and my payments were confirmed when I personally went there to check in Victoria Travelodge first they said check in time is after 3 pm you can come back later. secondly when I gave my confirmation number for my booking and payments and then they also ask me to present same visa card from which I made payments. next day when I double check with my bank they charged me three times payment for 1 day was 282 dollars. I was shocked because expedia already took my payments and made payments on my behalf but these guys charged me again three times on my visa. I was very mad on these guys. finally I talk to general manager and sort out my problem.

Nice hotel easy to find

Very nice hotel, rooms were always clean. Bathtub was very small and there are a lot of stairs but otherwise experience was great.

Less expensive because not near any tourist sites

Posted Jun 24, 2014
Cons: Driving directions from the US ferry were not too clear.
Location: This hotel is not near anything that a tourist would want to see.
Free parking. City bus right outside the front door. If you manage to catch the tour bus which is parked at this hotel, they will take you down to the waterfront for free on their way down to start their tour route. Room was clean, hallways weren't so much so. I did not eat at their restaurant; Chinese restaurant a few blocks away was very good. Easy to get onto the major north-bound highways headed for Butchart Gardens or Nanaimo. The staff was very helpful.

Decent For The Price

Posted Jun 19, 2014
Pros: The staff was very friendly, and quickly worked out a solution to the room problem.
Cons: Some general upgrades to the outside of the building. Quite run down.
Location: Close to downtown Victoria, not walking distance though.
The hotel is in a decent area of town. We were expecting a smoke-free room, but the room reeked of smoke. The whole hotel has been smoke-free since it was built, I was told. I went back to the front desk and talked with them, they moved us to another room, an upgrade to a suite. It was very clean and comfortable for our family of 4. The hotel, aside from its lobby, needs a lot of renovation. It is a very dilapidated building. Also watch your head when going down the outside stairs. I'm 6'2" and even ducking my head I smacked the arch over the 1st floor landing. There are signs, but this one was extreme.
