“Overall a good experience”

Holiday Inn Express on Main Street in Barstow, CA was a pleasant surprise. There are many hotel/motels to choose from, but not many that have a standard of quality. The hotel was undergoing some maintainance during our stay, but it didn't interfere with our plans and noise was minimal. The bed was comfortable, though the pillow labeled "firm" was not quite. We missed the continental breakfast, but were happy to know it was an option. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends traveling through the area.

kinda noisy... Trains nearby and door was not sound tight.

Disappointing compared to other Holiday Inn Expresses. The room was tiny. I have to bring in an oxygen concentrator (approx. 2 ft by 3 ft) and it was difficult to find a spot AND plug it in. We ended up having to put it in front of the exit door. The floor had two nails sticking (with no obvious purpose) up in front of the bathroom door, which I stepped on. The fan made a loud noise but had to be on if the light was on. My husband removed the nails and fixed the fan. I was sick so we didn't call for help since he is a handyman. Otherwise, it was clean and we just made it work.

“OK, but somewhat noisy due to rail traffic”

My wife and I overnighted twice at this hotel when driving between San Jose, CA, and Sedona for a vacation. Noises from the nearby railway marshalling facility interrupted my wife's sleep several times. The breakfasts were pretty decent and there's an OK restaurant immediately across the road from the hotel. We ate dinner there both times.
